GMC has been on the move in recent months and we can expect them to launch a few new models in the upcoming years and months. One of those that attracts the most attention is without a doubt the new iteration of their premium SUV – Yukon.
The Yukon as we know it today was launched in 2021. Due to this fact people from the automotive world started believing that the year 2024 will be the one that will see this SUV refreshed to its core. Unfortunately, this will not be the case according to gmauthority.com which claims that there will not be any mid-cycle enhancements.
When to Expect Full Refresh?
GMC Yukon like GMC Acadia will not undergo a full refresh this year, and it probably won’t happen the next one. It is estimated that the year when GMC will take the big steps regarding their SUV department will happen in 2025 and maybe even later.
The notion is that every vehicle in this department will be redesigned including Tahoe and Suburban but that will not happen anytime soon. What’s expected are some mild changes and GM Authority reports that what will be most notable are the alterations made to the front and rear fascia, taillights upgrades, and a few tweaks to the rooftop.
On the inside the changes will be more drastic and we have GM Authority confirming this via spy photos. They claim that the new Yukon will sport a brand-new infotainment system with a slew of new technological solutions.
The entire layout is going to be changed and that is what will give the new Yukon the necessary dose of modernism. The mother company, GM, has yet to release any official information and photos of the upcoming model.
From the spy photos, we can tell that the dashboard will have a new shape which means that the entire layout will be new to pack all the novelties that the new model brings our way.
What Are The Hood Packs?
GMAuthority claims that changes are expected in this department too. The biggest one is the replacement of the good-old reliable 3.0L I6 LM2 turbo diesel Duramax engine.
In its place, the new Yukon will allegedly feature a new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbo diesel Duramax engine. While the changes appear to be imminent in terms of powertrains the platform will remain the same and the new Yukon will receive support from their resourceful GM T1 platform.
Will The New Yukon Arrive Soon?
So, we will not go into details regarding both the price and the release date. The closest we can go is that it will happen next year or even in 2025, which is a long shot in any case.
