Assumptions of 2024 BMW X3 – is it Ready for Debut?

Assumptions of 2024 BMW X3

BMW X3 is overdue for a new appearance. The one as we know it today has been around since 2017. In the automotive world, this is a long time. Of course, a minor facelift occurred in 2021, but even so, a long time has passed. Considering this is the best-selling SUV the Munich-based company has on the market a remake is long overdue. The best part about the entire story is that BMW confirmed we are in for a surprise.

Note: While some aspects of this article are based on predictions, assumptions, and speculation, BMW has confirmed that a South Africa-manufactured X3 will greet the market in 2024 running on a plug-in hybrid technology.

The Details We Know

Before 2024 BMW manufactured the majority of their vehicles in Rosslyn. Since its inception in 1968, this factory created 1.6 million vehicles. Today, it’s in the process of upgrading so that it could be dedicated to the electrical vehicle in an investment worth $218 million.

While concerning more details BMW remains secretive, we can tell that the new X3 is on the way based on the spy photos provided by motor1.com. What we can tell from the photos is that while the 2024 X3 will retain the current shape it will be quite larger than the outgoing model.

In addition to the size difference, the front fascia will receive a more chiseled appearance. On the inside, we’ll be blessed by a new and quite massive screen or even two of them. Based on the photos the automotive world claims that we’re in for a hot surprise regarding the M version of this compact SUV.

Powertrain Options

As we said, BMW is moving towards electrifying their US compounds while the same was already done in the SA. What this means is that the PHEV is back on the menu as it was absent since 2021. While we do not have details on the new powertrains the older versions ran on a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and 18 miles of all-electric range.

The pairing of this four-cylinder mill and an electric motor is enough to provide the drivers with 288hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. What everyone is hoping for is that the new version is going to be more potent with a longer range much like the new X5 PHEV.

When Will the New BMW X3 Arrive?

It is hard to be precise with this type of information when we’re so far removed from the date of production. Sources close to the company claim that the new X3 will enter production in August of next year.

According to drive.com.au and BMW-dedicated forum BimmerPost we won’t have to wait for too long from the date of production to the official release. Due to the fact that the vehicle is already late in the testing phase which is what the spy photos show us, it’s not hard to imagine that we’ll have this model on our hands in one year’s time.
