Walmart Split Black Friday Into Three Sales This Year, Here Is When the Best Deals Could Arrive

Walmart Split Black Friday Into Three Sales This Year

Black Friday at Walmart will begin two weeks before Thanksgiving this year, with the retailer announcing three separate sales that stretch into December. The first discounts arrive November 12, followed by a longer Black Friday event and a three-day Cyber Monday sale.

For shoppers, the new calendar creates an unusual decision. Buy a television or Christmas gift during the first sale, or wait for the next round and hope for a lower price? Walmart has confirmed when each event begins, but the complete list of discounted products and prices is still to come.

The company announced its holiday schedule on October 26, extending its promotional calendar to 14 sale days compared with 10 last year. Three separate events are already part of its holiday strategy, so the significant change is the extra time available to shop.

Walmart+ members will also receive early access to selected online deals, making the first 24 hours of the November sales particularly interesting for people searching for popular toys and electronics.

Walmart Black Friday 2026 Starts November 12, With Three Separate Sales

Walmart confirmed the dates in their holiday shopping announcement.

Sale Event Dates When Deals Begin
Early Black Friday Deals November 12 to 15 12:01 a.m. ET online, 6 a.m. local time in stores
Black Friday Deals November 23 to 29 12:01 a.m. ET online, 6 a.m. local time in stores
Cyber Monday Deals November 30 to December 2 12:01 a.m. ET online

Black Friday itself falls on November 27, the day after Thanksgiving. Walmart will already be several days into its main sale by then.

The first event offers an opportunity to buy gifts earlier in November. The second spans Thanksgiving weekend, and the third concentrates on online purchases after the holiday.

Walmart plans to discount thousands of items, including toys, electronics, clothing, beauty products and home essentials. However, shoppers should avoid assuming every product category will receive its lowest prices during the same event.

November 12 to 15 Could Be the Best Time to Buy Popular Toys

The first sale starts Thursday, November 12. Walmart says it will feature special limited-quantity offers called Hot Deal drops, with early access for members on selected products.

Toys are worth watching closely because the company is already promoting its holiday selection. Walmart says 25 toys on its Top Toys list will cost less than $25, although it has yet to establish that every item will reach its lowest seasonal price during the first sale.

Parents searching for a particular toy have a different priority than someone casually browsing for a discount. If the exact item is available at a price they are comfortable paying, purchasing early removes the risk of finding it sold out closer to Christmas.

For shoppers who are flexible about brands, colors or models, waiting may offer additional choices as retailers introduce competing promotions.

Walmart also plans thousands of gifts priced below $20. That makes the early sale relevant for smaller Christmas presents, school gift exchanges and stocking stuffers, where a few dollars saved across several purchases can reduce the final bill.

Still, a $19 gift is only a bargain if its normal price is higher. An attractive holiday price label tells shoppers what an item costs, not necessarily how much they are saving.

November 23 to 29 Is the Main Event for Electronics and Larger Purchases

The main Black Friday sale begins November 23, four days before Black Friday itself. It continues through Sunday, November 29.

Televisions, laptops, tablets and household appliances are among the products worth comparing during this period. Walmart has announced discounts across electronics and home goods, although specific promotional prices remain largely unconfirmed.

Electronics require careful comparison because retailers sometimes advertise products with similar names but separate specifications.

Two 55-inch televisions, for example, can have different display panels, refresh rates and software features. A laptop with a recognizable brand name may still have less memory or storage than another model selling at a similar price.

Checking the full model number helps avoid paying for an apparently impressive discount on a product with lower specifications.

Shoppers interested in several retailers should also compare Walmart against Best Buy, Target and Amazon once the November promotions are published.

Competition between major stores can create opportunities, but there is no guarantee that Walmart will have the lowest price on every product.

Walmart+ Members Get First Access to Certain Deals

Walmart is reserving selected online offers for members during the first 24 hours of its two November sale events.

The first exclusive period begins at 12:01 a.m. Eastern on November 12. Remaining Hot Deal drop inventory becomes available to other shoppers at 12:01 a.m. Eastern on November 13.

The same arrangement returns November 23, with remaining selected offers opening to nonmembers on November 24.

The important detail is that these restrictions apply to selected online offers, not every discount in the sale. Customers without Walmart+ can still shop the general promotions.

Membership also does not guarantee an item will remain in stock. Limited quantities could disappear during the exclusive period, leaving other customers with fewer opportunities to purchase the most popular products.

Walmart is promoting an annual bundle combining Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus for $120, with recurring renewal terms. A shopper considering membership primarily for Black Friday should compare the membership cost with the potential savings on products they actually intend to purchase.

For somebody who needs one discounted item, paying a substantial membership fee just to enter a sale early could eliminate the financial benefit. Existing members have a different calculation because their access is already included.

Cyber Monday Runs Through December 2, Entirely Online

Walmart will begin its third event on Monday, November 30, and continue it through Wednesday, December 2.

The sale is online, with the advertised start time of 12:01 a.m. Eastern. Walmart has not yet identified which individual products will receive the largest Cyber Monday reductions.

People who miss an earlier discount may find another opportunity during this final event. However, Cyber Monday should not be treated as a guaranteed second chance to purchase every product that appeared in the November sales.

A television discounted during the main event could return to its regular price, disappear from stock or receive another offer. Until the final promotional lists are released, none of those outcomes can be predicted for a particular model.

Online shoppers should also account for delivery dates. A lower price becomes less appealing if an important Christmas gift arrives after it is needed.

Sale Days Don’t Automatically Mean Lower Prices

Walmart held three separate holiday events last year as well. The new calendar gives customers 14 promotional days instead of 10, according to Retail Dive’s comparison of the two schedules.

More sale days give shoppers additional opportunities to purchase products, but they also create more occasions to spend money.

The simplest way to judge a discount is to compare the actual selling price with what the same product cost before the promotion.

For example, a television advertised at $399 instead of $599 appears to offer $200 in savings. If that exact model regularly sells for $429, the more meaningful reduction is $30.

Price-history tools can help with products sold online. For Walmart purchases, checking prices directly against other reputable retailers can also reveal if a supposed special offer is available elsewhere for less.

The value of promo codes and cashback offers also depends on their terms. Some apply only to qualifying categories, impose spending thresholds or exclude other discounts.

A lower advertised price can become less attractive after delivery charges, taxes or membership costs are included. Comparing the final amount at checkout provides a clearer picture of what a purchase will actually cost.

Walmart Is Extending the Holiday Sales Season as Shoppers Watch Their Budgets

There is a commercial reason for retailers to announce several sales instead of concentrating everything on one Friday.

Three separate events encourage customers to return to the website or store multiple times. A person who buys toys during the first promotion may come back for electronics during Thanksgiving week and make another purchase on Cyber Monday.

Walmart says its own consumer research found that 60% of shoppers consider the price of gifts and holiday purchases a source of seasonal concern, and 70% believe lower prices would make holiday shopping easier.

Retail analysts have also noted that Walmart and Target are separating their holiday promotions into events designed to keep customers interested over a longer period. An eMarketer analysis of retail holiday promotions identifies repeat shopping visits as part of the strategy.

That commercial objective does not make the discounts worthless. A retailer can attract repeat visits and still offer a competitive price. The question for shoppers is how much they spend across all three events.

Walmart has used similar timing outside the holiday season. During its summer promotion, the retailer offered a multiday sale with early access for members, alongside competing promotions from other major stores. The summer shopping discounts across major retailers illustrated how large chains increasingly compete through extended promotional periods.

Which Walmart Black Friday Sale Offer the Best Deals?

Walmart starts its Black Friday deals on November 12, with popular toys and Christmas gifts among the early attractions. Walmart+ members get first access to selected offers.

The main sale begins November 23, bringing another chance to find cheaper TVs, laptops and appliances. Best Buy, Target and Amazon will also be competing for holiday shoppers, so comparing prices could save more than any advertised discount suggests.

Cyber Monday follows on November 30, with three days of online deals. Some prices could fall further, although popular items may sell out before then.

Walmart has stretched its sales across 14 days, but longer sales do not necessarily mean bigger savings. A genuine bargain depends on the price, not the Black Friday label.
