The day one man/boy and his children turned 35W into the Freeway Of Love
When he heard the story, my brother Terry wrote this tune:
Bike Ride on 35W
The baby’s asleep
For a moment I’m free
To reflect on my dreams, and where I wanted to be
They seem sorta silly now
Like what was I thinking anyhow
I wanna dream something new
Bike ride on 35W
That dog is so loud
He’s gonna wake that kid up
I cross my fingers and refill my cup
Just a few more minutes to write
A song for the last Hoot tonight
‘Cause I want to play something new
Bike ride on 35W
Bike ride on 35W
My my, hey hey
It’s such a beautiful day
Hey hey, my my
Not a cop in the sky
My my hey hey
What will the family say?
Hey hey, my my
Wanna live before I die
I called in sick
But I’m feeling just fine
Riding past the Do Not Enter sign
There stands the Foshay Tower
It looks like an overlooked flower
Among all the weeds that grew
Bike ride on 35W
My my, hey hey
It’s such a beautiful day
Hey hey, my my
Not a cop in the sky
My my hey hey
What will the family say?
Hey hey, my my
Wanna live before I die
Wanna live before I die
Wanna live before I die
