Lake Calhoun needs new name worthy of community respect

I read with interest the two articles about Lake Calhoun. Previously, I was unaware that the lake was named for John C. Calhoun.

I also did not know anything about him. I am in agreement with those who believe that he should not be honored by our community.  I wonder, however, if it would be more productive to concentrate on the positive and not the disgraceful.

Could there be a campaign to rename the lake in honor of some individual worthy  community respect, instead of focusing on removing the name of such a flawed individual?
