As a 35-year resident of the Bryn Mawr neighborhood, I’m taking advantage of the opportunity to do something I’ve never done before — weighing in on a judicial primary election.
If you’re anything like me, its often a major head scratching time when I turn over my ballot only to find a bewildering array of judicial candidates. Who do I vote for? Should I cast a vote at all?
This year its easy. On Aug. 12 I will have no problem enthusiastically supporting Paul Scoggin for an open seat on the Hennepin County bench. He is smart, hardworking, ethical and experienced with a capital E. With over 30 years as a lawyer in the county attorney’s office, Paul has tried thousands of felony prosecutions.
Working with both Mike Freeman and Amy Klobucher, he has advanced to leadership positions and has received numerous outstanding service awards. Paul has worked overseas for the state Departments Rule of Law mission in Kosovo and the Middle East. We are lucky to have such a fine public servant on the Aug. 12 primary ballot.
Please join me in voting for Paul Scoggin for Hennepin County Judge.
