I absolutely loved my time at the Journal and look back on those years fondly.

I was a recent college graduate and had only lived in Minneapolis for about 8 months when I was hired at the paper. I was simply looking for a job that I could do during the weekdays, as I needed my evenings and weekends free for the theater company I was involved with.

I feel so fortunate to have found my way to Janis and Terry! The paper was in a transition phase: It was shifting to sending the paper to the printer in a digital format as well as moving to a bigger office. It proved to be a great time to experience a lot of new things and develop new skills I could take with me as I moved on to other adventures.

I worked alongside a staff of tremendous people including reporters and editors, salespeople and designers — some of whom I am still in touch with today. Terry and Janis created an awesome environment to work and learn and grow and I will always consider it one of my best life experiences!
