Jayne Miller, superintendent of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, has been selected to serve on the board of directors at the World Urban Parks organization.
Miller will be the only U.S. park agency representative, and one of three association representatives from the country, to serve on board of the international organization of urban leaders in parks and public lands.
“I am proud to share the achievements of our world class park system and look forward to being a part of an international network of individuals and organizations who are dedicated to the advancement of city liveability and sustainable environment through parks, open space and recreation,” Miller said in a statement.
The Twin Cities will host the 2017 City Parks Alliance’s International Urban Parks Conference, which “which will celebrate the most innovative work happening today around urban park planning, design and programming, demonstrating the power of partnerships that create and sustain urban parks.”
Miller has been superintendent of the Park Board since 2010.
