The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board launched its redesigned website Thursday.
Since its launch in 2001, the board’s website has been slow to update. Park Board staff redesigned the website at www.minneapolisparks.org to be more mobile-friendly, allow for photo galleries and to better cater to park users.
“The redesigned website is another step toward providing better customer service for Minneapolis residents and park visitors,” said Park Board President Liz Wielinski in a statement. “We made it easier for anyone using our website to find information, register for programs or learn about important topics like emerald ash borer or park improvement projects underway. Through photos and new features, the new website also showcases the beauty and fun found in the parks.”
The redesign is over two years in the making and involved work from two local firms, Fredrickson Communications and Clockwork Active Media.
The website receives approximately 2.2 million visitors each year.
