The owner of the former Falafel King building at 701 W. Lake St. is giving it a “full revamp” — you may have noticed the new green color.

Owner Michael Veazey said he’s rehabbing the entire building and he’s working to lease out a single 3,000-square-foot retail space ideally suited for a restaurant.

Veazey said he took over the building last year because he wanted to be part of a revitalization of Minneapolis that is working its way east.
