Leasing efforts are underway for a one-story building proposed for the northwest corner of 55th & Lyndale, part of the former Borton Volvo lot.
The 4,700-square-foot building would stand flush at the corner, surrounded by surface parking spaces.
John Kohler of Kohlridge Partners is assisting the developer Capital Real Estate Inc., and he presented the concept to the Kenny Neighborhood Association. He said the building could potentially hold a restaurant and one or two retail tenants.
Kenny Board Chair Nancy Hoyt Taff said the design seems to fit with the neighborhood, and residents appreciated the bike racks and expansive windows. The board hopes to see lots of green space in the project, she said.
Construction could begin in the spring or summer, Kohler said, depending on the status of leasing.
