Crime Prevention Specialist departs

Uptown’s longtime crime prevention specialist, Chelsea Adams, is leaving to accept a position outside the Minneapolis Police Department.

Adams worked for more than 10 years as a liaison between police and community members in neighborhoods north of Lake Street as well as Uptown and West Calhoun.

In a farewell statement, Adams said she enjoyed her time in the 5th Precinct.

“No matter how much we care or how hard we work in law enforcement, we can never police our way out of all situations,” she said. “Our community connections are invaluable, especially in crime prevention. Every step taken together is a step toward a happier, healthier community for everyone.”

Crime Prevention Specialist Jennifer Waisanen will temporarily serve as a point of contact for the entire 5th Precinct. She is available at 673-5407 or [email protected]
