The Minnesota Secretary of State’s office is holding an event called “Capitol Code: An Open Data Jam” on Feb. 22 at the Uptown CoCo to give engaged citizens and tech experts a chance to create apps using public data sets.
The data sets will include voting and election information, including polling place data and election results. “Public data is a tremendous resource for Minnesotans, and I’m excited to see the innovation, new business and employment opportunities that can be generated by using this information,” said Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, on the website promoting the event.
People interested in participating are encouraged to bring a computer, charger, pens and paper and friends to help brainstorm ideas for the public data.
The event runs 9 a.m.–5:30 p.m., at Uptown CoCo, 1010 W. Lake St.
