Mayor Betsy Hodges has appointed Erica Prosser to the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC).
Prosser is a policy advisor to Hodges and previously worked for former Mayor R.T. Rybak, including six years as his aide for airport issues and a liaison to the MAC.
The mayors of Minneapolis and St. Paul can each appoint one person to represent them on the MAC, and the governor appoints the rest for the 15-member commission.
Prosser’s father was Richfield’s city manager when the MAC and Metropolitan Council were exploring alternate locations for the airport in the 1980s and 1990s.
“The MAC will soon be facing a number of critical decisions relating to labor, sustainability and capacity, all of which have an impact on the residents of South Minneapolis and our city’s economy,” Prosser said in a statement. “Just as my father advocated for his city, I am ready advocate to for Minneapolis.”
