India Palace is now open in the former Baja Sol space at 2546 Hennepin Ave. It’s the fifth restaurant in the local chain and co-owned by the executive chef of the Roseville location.
“After six years, I’m back to business,” said Jatin Sharma, who previously owned a restaurant in Fargo and worked at restaurants and five-star hotels in India. “I’m trying to do some new concoctions, and I’m trying to provide five-star quality service.”
Sharma said popular menu choices include the biryani with lamb, shrimp, chicken, veggies and saffron; and mango lassi drinks made with yogurt and mango.
He highlighted the lunch buffet, open 11 a.m.-1 p.m., and said he may consider staying open until 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday — India Palace is near the Uptown Diner, and Sharma has noticed that Uptown patrons dine late.
