Wuollet Bakery’s lease at 2447 Hennepin Ave. S. was slated to end next spring, but the owners decided to pull the plug early during the slow winter months.
“We’ll discontinue that location and continue the ones we have,” said co-owner Doug Wuollet. “It’s our smallest store, and it always has been. Looking at our business plan for the future, we’re probably not going to expand it there.”
He said they hope to expand in the metro, though no signed agreements are in place yet.
Wuollet estimated that the shop has operated on Hennepin for nearly 20 years. Other locations include 50th & Chowen, the U.S. Bank Plaza Downtown, and locations in Robbinsdale, St. Paul and Wayzata.
Zach Akins, a manager at Premier Properties, said he wasn’t aware of any future plans determined for the space.
