The Minnesota Honey Company has become a hub for homegrown products at 4956 Xerxes Ave. S., and it’s a new CSA drop site for farm share customers.

Husband and wife owners Kelley and Deborah Flanders are enjoying the chance to taste test products at home — they recommend the apple-cinnamon oatmeal pancake mix from Savory Spring Farms (grains are hand-milled using water wheel power), topped with cinnamon maple syrup from Three Rivers Farm of Elko, Minn.

Big sellers thus far include Klein Foods coffee cream samplers with flavors like vanilla nut honey and amaretto honey; and the family-owned Bare Honey, with varieties like lavender blossom.

The shop also sells Crow’s Soaps out of Bloomington, a chemical-free seller of soaps for shaving, laundry and even dogs.

The window display features Deborah’s beekeeping suit — her family’s farm makes honey in Hinckley, Minn.
