MINNEHAHA — The owners of Town Hall Tap have finalized a purchase of the former Skylane Bowling building at 5019 34th Ave. S., with plans to open a bowling alley and restaurant there by early summer.
Construction will start in the coming weeks.
“We’ll gut the whole thing,” said Town Hall co-owner Pete Rifakes.
The complete remodel will feature new bowling equipment, antiques and beer signs, mirroring Town Hall Tap’s decor at 48th & Chicago. Rifakes said he isn’t sure whether they will have a full bar or stick to beer and wine service, and the menu be similar to other Town Hall locations. The venue will be community-oriented and kid-friendly with sidewalk seating, he said.
“It’s more relaxed and laid back,” he said. “You can come in and enjoy a beer without having to talk over people.”
