The following highlights Halloween parties and other fall events in Southwest Minneapolis. 

Professor Sparks’ Trolley Circus

Meet Count Karl, the Vampire Motorman, and receive a Halloween treat for wearing a costume. This ride is silly, not scary, and is suitable for all ages. 


Thrill Kenwood 2015

Saturday, Oct. 24, 3-6 p.m.

2121 W. 21st St.

A Halloween block party with a zombie makeover station, storytelling by Birchbark Books, and cookies and cider provided by The Kenwood Restaurant. A flash mob will perform Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”


Halloween fun for little and big kids (and pets)!

Sunday, Oct. 25, 3-5 p.m.

Mueller Park, 2509 Colfax Ave. S.

Costume parade for children and pets, Urban Tails pet costume contest, Cookie Cart cookie decorating, and poster art decoration to be displayed in store windows.


Ghost Trolley Late Show

Como-Harriet Streetcar line


The Ghost Trolley Late Show features “The Prisoner and Other Stories.” This 45-minute theatrical presentation is adult in nature and not recommended for children. 


Preschool Halloween Party

Wednesday, October 28, 10 a.m.-noon

Lyndale Farmstead Park, 3900 Bryant Ave. S.

The Halloween party for young children and their parents offers a look at the regular Wednesday Parent/Tot Time program, which provides indoor playtime during the winter months.


Flights of Fright

A week of Halloween entertainment that includes variety shows, a haunted house and dance parties Friday and Saturday nights.


Dia de los Muertos

Friday, Oct. 30 and Sunday, Nov. 1

Midtown Global Market, 920 E. Lake St.

Children can decorate a Dia de los Muertos mask on Oct. 30. Vendors will give out free samples Nov. 1 at 11 a.m., with a Kalpulli Ketzalcoatlicue dance at 11:30 a.m.

In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre Show

Saturday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Puppet shows with the chance to make and take a puppet. Trick-or-treat at Calhoun Square after the show.


Spooktacular Halloween Party at Armatage Park

The night includes a hayride, bonfire, s’mores, games and treats.
