Several juvenile males attempted to rob a victim walking near West 31st Street & East Calhoun Parkway at about 9 p.m. Sept. 22, according to a crime alert circulated by the East Calhoun Community Organization.
The suspects were unable to take anything from the victim and ran away, according to the notice. The victim reportedly sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment.
As of Sept. 28, robberies year-to-date in Southwest Minneapolis’ 5th Precinct were tracking 12 percent lower than 2014 and 15.8 percent lower than 2013.
Police remind residents to choose well-lit streets, plan the safest and most direct route, walk with a friend if possible, and become familiar with businesses that are open late.
