The Lynnhurst neighborhood is hosting a March 14 forum on organics recycling.
Residents will learn about the benefits of using compost, what is compostable and what is not, and what happens to the compost once collected.
A citywide curbside organics recycling program will roll out in 2015 and 2016. In advance, however, residents can drop off organics in collection containers at Armatage Park and Pearl Park.
The forum runs from 9-11:30 a.m. at City Church, 1501 W. 54th St., with coffee and sweetbreads and time for Q&A. Presenters include staff from the city of Minneapolis, Hennepin County Environmental Services and The Mulch Store. People who have participated in organics pilot programs will also share their experiences.
