Career planning seminars planned for laid-off Target workers

Verisque, a St. Louis Park-based talent acquisition firm, is planning a series of career planning seminars March 26 for recently laid-off Target employees.

The hour-long seminars will include tips on identifying marketable assets and determining next steps in career planning. There will also be opportunities to network and go over resumes.

Jennifer Britton, Verisque’s practice director of consumer packaged goods, will lead the seminars.

“The individuals who have been displaced by Target’s recent layoffs are high-caliber talent and have been trained by the best,” Britton said. “We will help provide them with the resources they need to launch into their next career opportunities.”

Britton will also talk about the state of the marketplace and provide information about employers hiring laid-off Target workers.

Members of Verisque’s executive recruiting team, which specializes in IT, HR, digital marketing, engineering and operations, finance and accounting, sales, consumer packaged goods, and executive retained search, will also be on hand to meet with seminar attendees.

Verisque recently merged with its sister company McKinley Consulting, which specializes in IT consulting.

The March 26 seminars are free and will be held Verisque’s offices near the West End at 6564 Wayzata Blvd., Suite 970. They will be held 9 a.m.–10 a.m.; 10:30–11:30 a.m.; 12:30 p.m.–1:30 p.m.; 2–3 p.m.; and 3:30–4:30 p.m. Attendees can register at www.verisque.com/target-career-seminars

Target Corp. laid off 1,700 employees March 10 and announced it would permanently close 1,400 vacant positions.
