Residents living near the Red Cow have freed up more street parking for the restaurant, prompting the owner to drop a lawsuit against the city.
“It’s great to have that neighborhood solution,” said Fulton Neighborhood Association President Jim Tincher, who worked with Council Member Linea Palmisano to mediate the issue. “When you actually get people talking together, you can get everybody together to solve problems.”
Residents near the Red Cow had successfully petitioned to require permit-only parking from 4-10 p.m. daily on both sides of Drew and the west side of Chowen between 49th and 50th streets. The new agreement only requires permit parking on the west side of Drew and the west side of Chowen.
The agreement ends after 10 years, or if the current owner sells or closes the restaurant.
