The charitable beer company Finnegans is unveiling a “reverse food truck” on Saturday, March 15 outside of Kieran’s Irish Pub that will be collecting donations for the Emergency Foodshelf Network’s Harvest for the Hungry Program.
The program donates fresh local fruit and veggies to local food shelves and meal programs.
Finnegans has a goal of raising $5,000 by the end of March and $50,000 by the end of September.
Finnegans CEO Jacquie Berglund said the idea sparked during a meeting with the company’s long-time pro bono ad agency Martin|Williams.
“I promised the Martin|Williams team I was going to go out and buy a food truck by the end of the week, which is when serendipity stepped in. After my meeting, I ran into Luke Derheim, the amazing marketing manager at Stanley’s Northeast Bar Room and before I knew it I had a food truck sourced,” Berglund said.
When the truck isn’t out in the community collecting donations, it will be parked at the Emergency Foodshelf Network in New Hope.
Finnegans, which is based in Elliot Park, was founded in 2000 and 100 percent of its profits go to its community fund supporting hunger relief programs throughout the Midwest.
