The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners has signed off on a development agreement for the new Target Field Station — formerly known as the Interchange Project.
The multimodal station next to Target Field will feature a park area and other amenities next to the Hennepin Energy Recovery Center (HERC). The Twins and United Properties have agreed to pay the county $1.95 million for naming rights, among other things, on the site, according to county officials.
The Twins have also pledged to pay for a large video display board at the station and $1 million in other enhancements.
Metro Transit plans to have its police headquarters on site and United Properties has an option to build an office building above Metro Transit’s building.
Target Field Station is on track to open spring of 2014.
