Congressman Keith Ellison and the city of Minneapolis are hosting a community meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 27 to talk about potential changes to flight paths near the airport.
The meeting is 5:30-7 p.m. at Washburn High School, 201 W. 49th St.
The forum will allow people to ask questions they would like answered before RNAV implementation. RNAV (an abbreviation for area navigation) would consolidate the airport’s flight paths into a handful of routes. The nationwide change is designed to streamline communication with air traffic controllers, improving safety and efficiency.
The Federal Aviation Administration is currently studying an option to partially implement RNAV and delay implementation over Southwest Minneapolis.
