A 52-year-old woman reported that a man whom she knew took her Internet modem as he was moving his belongings from her home. The woman told police the man took the modem out of spite.
June 1–July 1 / 3000 block of Colfax Avenue South
A 23-year-old man reported a MacBook Pro and a gold ring had been stolen from his home. The man reported a friend of his roommate’s who he thinks stole the items had been staying in the house during the time of the thefts. The gold ring was found in a pawnshop.
July 8, 5:05 p.m. / 3200 block of West Lake Street
An officer reported a domestic assault after a 54-year-old man was struck with a steel water bottle by his roommate, who was also his girlfriend. The man was not injured and refused medical attention.
July 9, midnight / 2700 block of Humboldt Avenue South
A 45-year-old man reported someone ripped the screen off the ground-level window in his apartment while he was sleeping. The suspect took a TV, a digital camera, loose change and a backpack. The man noticed that the front door was unlocked after the burglary.
July 9, 1:30 p.m.
1450 W. Lake St. / Officers were called to Lund’s grocery store for the theft of a deli chicken. The store manager told officers a group of four people had left the store and were eating the chicken as they were walking away. Officers located the group and found a warrant for arrest for one of the group members, a 44-year-old man. The group was advised not to return to the store.
July 9, 7 a.m. / 4700 block of Drew Avenue South
A 59-year old woman reported her house was egged for the second time. The woman told police she is a teacher in the area and she believes youth may be doing the egging.
July 2, 6:30 a.m. / 1700 block of Irving Avenue South
A 47-year-old man reported the passenger-side front window in his car was smashed and his briefcase was stolen from his car while he was jogging around Lake of the Isles. The briefcase was later found in a sculpture garden, but the cash and an iPhone that were inside the briefcase were gone.
July 5, 2013 / 3600 block of Colfax Avenue South
A 26-year-old woman reported she was assaulted by her boyfriend, who took the phone and refused to let her call 911. The suspect was gone when officers arrived.
July 6, 6 p.m. / 2800 block of James Avenue South
A 57-year old woman reported she parked her bike at an outdoor bike rack around 5:30 p.m. and locked it with a thick cable and master padlock. When she returned the next day, the bike was gone, along with the cable and lock.
July 8, 9 a.m. / 3200 block of East Lake Calhoun Parkway
A 32-year-old man reported he was walking around Lake Calhoun when someone backed his or her car into the front bumper of his car, causing damage. The man stated the driver did not leave a note or wait there.
July 5, 3:35 p.m. / Vineland & Hennepin
A 31-year-old man reported he was traveling westbound on Vineland Place when someone driving a late ’90s teal Ford Explorer cut in front of his vehicle and sideswiped the left front fender. The man followed the vehicle towards Bryant Avenue South when the suspect fled in an unknown direction. The man returned home and called 911.
July 4, 6:40 p.m. / 3000 block of Lyndale Avenue South
A 40-year-old woman reported she had parked her car on the street and went inside a restaurant to eat. When she came out, she saw the front right passenger window had been broken and a black nylon backpack had been stolen. The contents of the backpack were left inside the car.
July 8, 11:30 p.m. / 28th & Lyndale
A 19-year-old man reported he was parked near the intersection of West 28th Street and Lyndale Avenue South when he discovered a bag was missing from the backseat of his car. The man reported the bag had been in the backseat throughout the night as he drove to different places in Uptown, but at some point it had gone missing. He said he believed his car was locked each time, but couldn’t be sure.
July 4, 5 p.m. / 3200 block of West Lake Calhoun Parkway
A 43-year-old woman reported she noticed her ID was missing when she got to Jamba Juice on the west side of Lake Calhoun. She told police she had taken her phone out of the same pocket her ID had been in while she was walking to Jamba Juice, but said she retraced her steps and couldn’t find it. She told police it was possible the ID had been stolen.
