The newly formed MSP FairSkies Coalition, a group that follows airport issues on behalf of Southwest Minneapolis, is hosting a community presentation and discussion on May 2.
The meeting will address the airport’s expansion and the potential changes to flight paths over Southwest Minneapolis.
“Other cities around the country have set limits and noise quotas with their jet traffic. We need to do the same,” wrote Dean Amundson, Kingfield’s representative to the FairSkies group. “We will show the inconsistencies in the airport plans, and mostly the inadequate sharing of information with us, the neighborhoods imposed upon. This doesn’t need to be airport vs. homes.”
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 2 at the Martin Luther King Park building, 4055 Nicollet Ave.
