Amore Victoria collecting donations, hosting benefit for residents impacted by condo fire

Amore Victoria is collecting silent auction donations through Tuesday for a benefit it’s planning Jan. 9 for the residents displaced by the Uptown condo fire.

Nearly two dozen people were displaced by the condo fire on the 1500 block of West Lake Street on Dec. 28. The blaze was caused by unattended candles, according to the Minneapolis Fire Department.

The benefit will be held 6 p.m. to midnight at the restaurant, 1601 W. Lake St.

In addition to items for the silent auction, Amore Victoria is collecting other donations to help the residents get back on their feet, including gift cards to area businesses, clothing and small household items. Check donations are also being collected at the restaurant and local Wells Fargo branches. Make checks otu to “Uptown Condo Fire Fund.”
