Accent Signage Systems’ director of operations, John Souter, returning to work soon

Accent Signage Systems’ director of operations, John Souter, is expected to return to work early this year, recovering from an injury sustained during the Sept. 27 shooting.

The company recently released a statement to stand in “solidarity” with those who lost loved ones in Newtown, Conn.

Sami Rahamim, the 17-year-old son of slain Accent founder Reuven Rahamim, plans to work during the coming legislative season with the organization Protect Minnesota: Working to End Gun Violence. In December, he met with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg to discuss current efforts in gun violence prevention.

Meanwhile, Accent Signage is plowing forward with its work, recently unveiling a new web design, new logo, new e-newsletter, and its 2012 interior signage manual.

“Green technology is at the core of what Accent Signage is doing, and the logo and website are a reflection of that focus,” said Spokesman Wendy Khabie in an email. “Along with several members of the executive staff, Reuven Rahamim was very involved in the concept and content of the website over the course of [2012], and we are very sorry that he is not here to see this come to fruition.”
