NORTH LOOP — Washington Avenue is becoming another Eat Street. The latest newcomer to the street is the restaurant Borough and below it, the bar Parlor.
The restaurant and bar are set to open Jan. 2 in the new apartment building ElseWarehouse at 730 Washington Ave. N.
The new restaurant will be led by chefs Nick O’Leary and Tyler Shipton — alumni of the acclaimed restaurant Travail in Robbinsdale.
Borough will have vintage decor and seat 120. In a news release, the food is described as “contemporary American cuisine using modern techniques and locally sourced ingredients with the menu changing on a chef’s whim.”
Veteran bartender Jesse Held, who has worked at the Town Talk Diner, Marvel Bar and Eat Street Social, will oversee the Parlour bar. It will have classic cocktails and a mix of craft brews. Mixologists will also provide personalized tableside cocktail service.
