Nov. 8, 4:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.

1100 block of W. 32nd St.   

The home of a 78-year-old woman was burglarized. She lost property worth up to $1,000. 

Nov. 11, 8:30 p.m. 

3100 block Dupont Ave. S.

Someone attempted to break into the boiler room of an apartment building. No entry was made. 


Nov. 9, 1 p.m. 

2808 Hennepin Ave. S. 

Someone took 33 keys out of women’s lockers in the YMCA. Staff members don’t know how the suspect got the keys out of their locks, because a keycard is needed to remove them. It didn’t appear that anything had been taken from the lockers. 


Nov. 10, 6 to 9 p.m.

1432 31st St. W

A 45-year-old woman was eating at Lucia’s and left her purse on the floor, unzipped. She said she believes someone took something from her purse when she wasn’t looking. 


Nov. 11–12, overnight

4500 block Fremont Ave. S.

The patio alarm of a woman’s home was triggered causing her security system to sound. The next morning, she discovered a crank-open egress window ajar in her lower level with the inside screen missing. No entry was made.


Nov. 12, 5:45 a.m. 

1200 block of Kenwood Parkway

A vehicle was stolen from a man’s driveway. 


Nov. 9–12

4400 block Wentworth Ave. S.

The home of a 46-year-old woman was burglarized while she was away for four days. Police report the front porch window was the point of entry and the back kitchen window served as the exit. An iPod, money, a sleeping bag and a laptop were taken. 


Nov. 9, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

2700 block W. 43 St.

About $3,400 cash and $50 worth of European currency were taken in a burglary of a residence. The front door apparently was pried open with a screwdriver, which was left at the scene. 


+ Nov. 10, 7:45 p.m.

22nd & Irving

A 46-year-old man was robbed. He sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. 


Nov. 8-9, overnight

2700 block of Bryant Avenue South 

A 19-year-old man said he was away from his residence overnight, but that some people were at his home while he was gone. When he returned, his laptop computer was missing. 


+ Nov. 9, 2 a.m.

3400 block Harriet Ave. S.

A 21-year-old woman in the process of moving out heard knocking at her door and then forceful, repeated kicking. No entry was made and the door was undamaged. Nearby residences saw and heard nothing. 

Nov. 8, 10 p.m. 

105 W. Lake St. 

Abdisemed M. Ali, 42, of Chaska, was arrested for theft after he ran up a $69 bar tab at Champions Sports Bar and Grill and was unable to pay his bill. He also had a warrant out for his arrest. 


Nov. 11, 9:10 a.m.

1300 block W. 47th St.

Police arrested Tyrone W. Kellum, 28, and Marquail T. Townsend, 19, both from Minneapolis, on charges of attempted burglary. The victim, a man police reported was in his 20s or 30s, was inside at the time the two men tried to enter his home. 


Nov. 9–11

1700 block Stevens Ave. S. 

An unknown suspect broke into several storage rooms on the lower level of an apartment building. It was unknown when police filed an initial report if there are any losses. Security cameras took photos of a suspect. 

Nov. 10, 4:45 p.m.

1816 Nicollet Ave. S. 

A suspect stole items from a Family Dollar store, but he left behind a backpack that contained his personal information. 

Nov. 8, 10 p.m.

1820 1st Ave. S. 

Residents at City View Condominiums discovered their storage room had been breached, and their units’ lockers cut. One woman told police her bicycle and helmet had been taken. 


Nov. 10, 2:30 p.m.

600 block W. 53rd St.

Multiple vehicles were burglarized and items were stolen from a car garage. There was video footage of a suspect captured at an entry door. 


Nov. 12, 7 p.m. 

25th & Nicollet

The residence of a 25-year-old man was burglarized. He lost belongings and found minor damage to his home.

Nov. 10, 7:30 p.m. 

2937 Lyndale Ave. S. 

A 23-year-old woman told police that someone stole her phone from the table she was sitting at inside of The Lyndale Tap House. The person ran away after taking her phone. 

Nov. 7-8, overnight

2000 block of Pillsbury Ave. S. 

An unknown suspect broke the window of a vehicle and tried to peel the ignition. The suspect failed, and the vehicle was not taken. 

Nov. 6, 6 p.m.

310 W. Lake St.

A 19-year-old man accidentally left his backpack at Popeyes. When he returned a while later, it was missing. 

Nov. 8, 8:20 p.m.

10 W. Lake St. 

Jordan E. Waleski, 21, of Hastings, was cited for theft after he allegedly stuffed three calculators in his pants and tried to walk out of Kmart. The calculators, when they passed through the security system, automatically locked the doors. Waleski panicked and discarded the calculators, but staff identified him and a police officer mailed him a citation.  


Nov. 7–8 

5500 block Garfield Ave. S.

The car of a 34-year-old woman was parked in an alley driveway outside her garage. An unknown suspect opened the locked doors and emptied the contents of her glove and door compartments and the center console.
