May 22, 5 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
2300 block of Bryant Avenue South

A 25-year-old woman left her apartment window unlocked when leaving for work in the morning. When she returned, she discovered a burglar had entered her apartment and took items. Police were unable to retrieve evidence.

May 25, 7:45 p.m.
2500 block of Aldrich Avenue South

A motorcycle reportedly stolen May 13 was recovered after the complainant’s son found the vehicle parked near their home. A police report stated the incident was suspicious, given the proximity of the crime and recovery. The motorcycle owner is the complainant’s ex-wife who lives in Bloomington. Police were asked by complainant not to disclose his address to his ex-wife. 

May 23, 11 p.m.
2916 Lyndale Avenue South

A 39-year-old woman was arrested on misdemeanor theft charges for allegedly stealing the wallet and iPhone of a 22-year-old woman in the bathroom of the VFW.



May 27, 7:30 p.m.
3700 block of Pleasant Avenue South

A rock thrown through the passenger’s side window of a car was the entry point for a burglar who stole items from the vehicle’s glove box.



May 23, 11:15 p.m.
100 block of 19th Street East

A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with a burglary and forced entry of a woman’s home after the woman forced a man out of her apartment and called police.

May 26–27, overnight.
2100 block of 1st Avenue South

A car was stolen from a parking garage. One of the vehicle’s doors was unable to lock properly, the victim told police.



May 27-28, overnight
24 Diamond Lake Road E.

A car was stolen after the victim left her key in the ignition and her car unlocked overnight, expecting her sister to pick the vehicle up, a police report said. The victim’s sister had decided not to retrieve the vehicle that night but apparently did not tell the vehicle owner, the report indicated.



May 27, 12:30 a.m.–10:30 a.m. 2400 block of Lake
Harriet Parkway East

A garage was broken into and burglarized.



May 24–25, overnight.
5300 block of Fremont Avenue South

A garage and vehicles in the garage were broken into and burglarized. A car stereo and several other items were stolen.

May 22, 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m.
5000 block of Knox Avenue South

A 76-year-old man parked his vehicle in a parking lot for several hours. When he returned and drove his vehicle, it wasn’t running properly. The man took the vehicle to a mechanic, who advised him that his catalytic converted had been ripped out.



May 26–27, overnight.
2900 block of Ewing Avenue South

A 46-year-old woman’s car was stolen after a person entered her home through an unlocked window, stole her purse with the vehicle’s keys in it and found the car parked out front.



May 22–23, overnight
2400 block of Humboldt Avenue South

Four bikes were stolen from a garage after someone forced entry into the space by breaking a deadbolt lock.



May 28, 5:15 p.m.
Thomas Beach, Lake Calhoun

A 24-year-old woman had her cell phone stolen at the beach.



May 22, 2 to 3 p.m.
47th and Beard

A 14-year-old Southwest High School student went outside for gym class, leaving his backpack in the gym with others. Someone took his cell phone from his backpack.
