+ April 10, 12:05 a.m.

2500 block of Bryant Ave. S. 

A 30-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint by three suspects. 

April 14, 6:30 a.m. 

2500 block of Bryant Ave. S. 

A woman awoke to find a suspect in her bedroom. The suspect then took her purse and fled. 

April 14, 6 p.m.

1402 W. Lake St. 

A 30-year-old woman went into the restroom at Stella’s Fish Cafe. She took off her wedding ring while washing her hands. She went back to her table, and after five minutes realized she left her ring in the bathroom. When she went back to get the ring, it was missing. She asked staff, who said no one had turned the ring in. 

EAST ISLES

April 16, 5:30 a.m.

2650 Hennepin Ave. S. 

An unknown suspect broke two glass doors to Roat Osha and took a portion of the restaurant’s safe. 

CEDAR-ISLES-DEAN

April 10-11, overnight

2700 block of Upton Ave. S. 

An unknown suspect entered an unlocked garage and took 

a bicycle. 

LINDEN HILLS

April 10, 12:30 p.m.

3800 block of Richfield Road

Police responded to a tripped burglar alarm and when they arrived at the home, they found that the front door had been forced open. No one was inside and police believe the suspect was scared off by the alarm. The residents were not home at the time. 

TANGLETOWN

April 12-13, overnight

4800 block of Grand Ave. S. 

An unknown suspect entered a garage through an unlocked service door and took two bicycles. 


KINGFIELD

+ April 15, midnight

4400 block of Nicollet Ave. S. 

Two men and a woman were robbed at gunpoint by an unknown man. 

LYNDALE

April 10, 2 a.m. 6:30 a.m.

3500 block of Stevens Ave. S. 

A woman parked her vehicle outside. When she returned, the vehicle was missing and broken glass was on the ground where she had parked it. The woman told police that another man has keys to the vehicle, and that this man was sharing in the car’s costs. She said she owed him $500 and that calls she made to him had not been returned. 

WEST CALHOUN

April 15, 2:15 p.m.

3040 Excelsior Blvd. 

A 38-year-old man was arrested for stealing cash from the register at Chipotle while he was working.

April 14, 3:30 p.m.

3060 Excelsior Blvd. 

A 30-year-old woman was shopping at Whole Foods. She had her purse in her cart, but believes that when she went to grab something, her wallet was taken. She discovered that quickly thereafter, her credit cards had been used.

EAST ISLES

+ March 28, 9 a.m.

1444 W. Lake St. 

Brady A. Johnson, 49, of Minneapolis, was arrested on a Metro Transit bus a short distance from TCF Bank, where police say he demanded money while implying he had a gun. Using GPS tracking, police found Johnson on a bus with the money he allegedly took. 

+ March 30, 8 p.m.

2700 block of Hennepin Avenue South 

A 23-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk when a suspect approached her from behind and snatched her purse. He fled the scene. 

April 1, 7:30 p.m.

26th and Hennepin

A 23-year-old woman locked her bicycle outside a bar and went in to get a drink. When she returned, her bicycle was missing and lock had been cut or broken.

+ April 2, 9:45 p.m.

Harriet and 31st

A 28-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint by two men. 

ECCO

March 27, 5 p.m. 

1000 block of West Lake Street

A 29-year-old man was flagged down by a suspect who asked the man if he wanted to buy some TVs or stereo equipment. The suspect pointed a gun at the man. The 29-year-old man began yelling, prompting the suspect to flee the scene. 

March 27-29, evenings 

3000 Hennepin Avenue South

On three consecutive evenings, Victoria’s Secret was hit by shoplifters. 

On March 27, a suspect took merchandise from two display shelves and ran east on Lake Street. 

On March 28, three teenage girls were arrested for shoplifting at the store. 

Then, on March 29, Elbert L. Wilkins, 45, of Minneapolis, was arrested on charges that she stole $500 worth of merchandise from the store. 

April 1, 11:30 a.m.

3008 Hennepin Avenue South

A store employee at North Face called police when he saw a 20-year-old man stuffing merchandise down the front of his pants. An officer arrived and asked the man to empty his pants. The man pulled out two hooded sweatshirts and a pair of sweatpants, each valued at $50. Police arrested the man, Michael J. Mulwa, 20, of Columbia Heights.  

LOWRY HILL EAST

+ April 2, 10 p.m.

2300 block of Colfax Avenue

A 29-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were walking on the sidewalk when two suspects robbed them at gunpoint. 

April 1, 4:30 p.m.

1320 W. Lake St. 

A 37-year-old woman was at Cowboy Slim’s. She set her purse on the floor and someone took her wallet, including three credit cards. 

WHITTIER

+ April 1, 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Lyndale and Franklin

A Minneapolis police officer shot Robert J. Yellowwolf, 43, of Minneapolis, several times after Yellowwolf allegedly attacked the officer with a knife. Yellowwolf was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center and arrested.

April 1, midnight to 7:30 a.m.

5200 block of Girard Avenue South

Unknown suspects entered an open garage and took a bicycle.

March 31- April 1, overnight

5300 block of Irving Avenue South

An unknown suspect entered an unlocked garage and took a bicycle, leaving behind another bicycle. 

LOWRY HILL

April 2, 4 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

1900 block of James Avenue South 

An unknown suspect removed a window screen and glass from a residence and attempted to enter, but was scared off by the owner’s barking dog.

TANGLETOWN

March 28, noon

5327 Lyndale Ave. S.

A 16-year-old girl was arrested for shoplifting at Kowlaski’s.

5800 block of Penn Avenue South

A woman returned home to find her back door kicked in, and a DVD player and digital converter missing.

+ March 17, 7:45 p.m.

3400 block of Lyndale Avenue

A woman struck her boyfriend in the head with a beer bottle before chasing him with a knife and threatening to kill him. The man sustained a cut above his eye. 

+ March 17, 7:20 p.m., 34th and Aldrich

A 23-year-old woman was walking when she approached from behind by a suspect who grabbed her purse and fled.

ISLES-DEAN


March 14–15, overnight

3000 block of West Lake Street 

A 42-year-old man was at Tryg’s Steak and Cuisine when he met another man who said he was a member of the rock band Seether and was staying at the Graves Hotel prior to putting on a show at the Target Center. The so-called rock star told the man that he had left his phone and wallet in his limo. 

The 42-year-old man invited the other man to his place for a few drinks, believing that he was “hanging out with a rock star.” The man fell asleep, and when he woke up a couple hours later the other man was gone, and so were two watches, $2,500 cash and his credit and debit cards, racking up $281 in charges and withdrawals. 

The thief left behind a list of phone numbers, including that of his own mother. His mother told the victim that her son is a crook and should be turned in. Another number connected to the man’s mentor, who said he has been trying to get help for his protégé. 

STEVENS SQUARE

March 18, 1:15 a.m.

19th Street East and 3rd Avenue 

Two women were walking home from a bar and noticed they were being followed by a group of four to six men. The men shouted sexual comments at the women. One the men ran up to the women, snatched her purse, and fled. 

+ March 14, 10:30 p.m.

1800 block of Stevens Avenue

Two suspects entered an apartment armed with a handgun. They assaulted two residents, took multiple items and fled the area.

+ March 17, 11 p.m.

Lake and Nicollet

A 40-year-old man was waiting for a bus when he was approached by three men. The men assaulted the man with beer bottles before taking cash from the victim’s pocket. The victim was transported to the hospital. 

March 14, 9 p.m. to midnight

105 W. Lake St. 

A 30-year-old man was inside Champions Minnesota Sports Bar and Grill. He left his bag at his table to go to the restroom. When he returned, his bag, containing a laptop computer and his passport, were missing. 

FULTON


March 14-15, overnight

5200 block of Richmond Curve

A woman left her vehicle parked on the street overnight, unlocked. Someone opened the door and took her garage door opener. Missing from her garage was a bicycle, although it was replaced with a different bicycle.

March 17, 11 a.m.

2500 block of Emerson Avenue 

A woman noticed her garage door was open and her son’s bicycle missing.

Mach 16, 5 to 10 p.m.

1200 block of Franklin 

Avenue West

A woman’s apartment door was kicked in and some of her things had been taken. The woman said he ex-boyfriend who broke in. 

March 14-15, overnight

1700 block of Dupont Avenue

A woman discovered that her wallet and $200 cash was missing from her kitchen counter. She had left the back door unlocked. Her husband’s vehicle, which had been parked in the garage, was missing spare change.

March 14-15

2510 Nicollet Avenue

An unknown suspect broke into Phuoc-Loc-Tho Jewelry and took an unknown amount of jewelry. Someone tried to break in again on March 19, but nothing was taken and it’s unknown if the suspect entered the store. 

March 14, 12 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

2200 block of Harriet Avenue

A woman parked her car in front of her apartment overnight. When she returned in the morning it was missing.
