Art Buddies is once again seeking creative professionals to serve as mentors for its after-school program.
The program pairs low-income students with professionals from fields like advertising, design and architecture. Together, the students and their mentors work on creative projects that help the students envision future life and career goals.
The deadline to volunteer is March 21.
Art Buddies will be held on six Thursday afternoons in March and April in the Whittier Recreation Center adjacent to Whittier International Elementary School. The program also recently expanded to Bancroft Elementary School, where students and their mentors will meet on Tuesday afternoons.

Art Buddies is a program of Creatives for Causes, Minneapolis-based nonprofit. Since it was founded in 1994, more than 1,800 students have participated in Art Buddies.
