Kite Festival pushed back to Jan. 21

Organizers of the East Harriet KiteFest have pushed the festival back to Jan. 21 — one week later due to unsafe conditions on the ice.

What a difference a year makes. After record snowfalls in 2011, Minneapolis has had an unseasonably warm winter — prompting the Minnesota DNR and Minneapolis parks leaders to reschedule the popular KiteFest.
