Oct. 11, between 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.

A 38-year-old man returned home and found that it had been broken into and ransacked.

Vision World, 3001 Hennepin Ave. S.
Oct. 16, 2 p.m.

A Vision World employee noticed a 62-year-old man slip a pair of glasses up his coat sleeve and attempt to leave. The employee conducted a citizen’s arrest of the man, who was later arrested by police.

East Isles

+ 26th & Garfield
Oct. 14, 2:30 p.m.

A 28-year-old woman was walking down the street when the man in front of her turned and started yelling at her. He then bear hugged the woman tightly, stealing a $20 bill from her purse and then fleeing on foot.

Chipotle, 2600 Hennepin Ave. S.
Oct. 17, 2:30 p.m
A 34-year-old man was ordering food inside Chipotle with his car parked in the restaurant’s lot. When he returned, one the car’s windows was smashed and his satellite radio receiver had been stolen.


Lowbrow, 4244 Nicollet Ave. S.
Oct 16–­17, overnight

Unknown suspects gained access to Lowbrow and stole multiple items. The police report did not include a dollar amount. The crime lab processed the scene.

Lowry Hill East

+ 26th & Dupont
Oct. 13, 9:30 p.m.

An unknown suspect robbed a 33-year-old woman at gunpoint. The suspect took her iPhone and fled on foot.


3033 Garfield Ave S
Oct. 17, 11 p.m.

Police responded to a call regarding a vehicle parked behind the address above for two days. The car had been reported as stolen. Police tried to notify the owner but were unable to. The car was towed to the Minneapolis impound lot.


Washburn Public Library,
5422 Lyndale Ave. S. Oct. 13, 3 p.m.

A 50-year-old man’s truck was broken into while he was in the library. His bag was missing and later found in a nearby alley. His iPhone and laptop were missing from the bag.


Lehman’s Garage, 5431 Lyndale Ave. S.
Unknown suspects broke into the overnight key drop-box at Lehman’s Garage and stole two cars left for repairs using the stolen keys. Both were parked on the street outside the repair shop’s fence.

Oct. 15, between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m.

A 32-year-old woman reported to police that following an argument with a friend the friend struck her in the back of the head with a large knife, requiring a trip to the hospital and nine stitches.


+ 27th & Stevens
Oct. 12, 11:30 a.m.

An unknown suspect struck a 37-year-old man, knocking him off his bike. Seven more unknown suspects the attacked the man. The man fled and was chased by the suspects for one-and-a-half blocks. The man went to Kmart and called the police.

2707 Grand Ave. S.
Oct. 13–14, overnight

A 46-year-old man reported his Notre Dame class of 1987 ring had been stolen from his room in a sober house. His door may have been unlocked. He said he suspected another resident who had shown interest in the ring and had offered to buy it.

Oct. 14, 6 p.m.

A 19-year-old man was stabbed in the side and back of the neck multiple times with either a pen or a pencil. Three teens and a 28-year-old man were arrested, two of who will be charged with aggravated assault.

Oct. 15, 4 a.m.

Police responded to a call of a fight at a party. When they arrived, they arrested a 23-year-old man for trespassing, and transported a 19-year-old woman to the hospital with unspecified injuries. Police were also shown a video depicting an unidentified 20- to 25-year-old man being stabbed.

116 W. Lake St.
Oct. 15, 8 p.m.

A 41-year-old man jumped his car to charge the battery and left it running on the street. The man left the car for two minutes and when he returned, it had been stolen.

East Isles

2646 Irving Ave. S. Sept. 27, between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
A 23-year-old woman went to work for an hour. Upon returning she noticed her car had been broken into and her purse was missing.


3000 Hennepin Ave. S. Oct. 3, 1:30 p.m.

A shoplifter stole $532 of bras from Victoria Secret. Security noticed and the suspect fled the scene after dropping a robe.

Lowry Hill

818 Dunwoody Blvd. Sept. 28, 3:30 p.m.
A 26-year-old Dunwoody student left his backpack in a classroom while in the metal shop. When he returned his backpack was gone along with the possessions of the student sitting next to him.

Stevens Square

1933 Lyndale Ave. S. Sept. 28, between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

A 59-year-old man parked his vehicle in the Compass Tools parking lot. Returning to his car he noticed two briefcases had been stolen from the vehicle. The briefcases contained laptops and personal items.

Oct. 1, 9 p.m.

An unknown suspect assaulted and stole the purse of a 26-year-old homeowner. The victim was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center.

Oct. 1, 3 a.m.

Police officers responded to a call and found a 19-year-old man to be the victim of a aggravated robbery. He was taken to the hospital. Officers took a juvenile into custody.

Sept. 27, 5:50 a.m.

Officers responded to a robbery. One of the suspects, a 20-year-old man, was taken into custody after assaulting one of the officers.

Oct. 2, 12:45 a.m.

A 19-year-old woman was walking down the street when an unknown suspect stole her purse and ran away. The woman was injured but refused a ride to the hospital.

Sept. 28, between 6 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.

A 26-year-old man employed at Tiger Sushi had a duffle bag stolen from his car in the Egg and I parking lot.

+ 2916 Hennepin Ave. S. Oct. 1, between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Two unknown suspects robbed a 22-year-old female standing in Chino Latino. The woman cancelled her card after $200 was charged to it at a Walgreens.

1320 W. Lake St. Sept. 29, between 10:30 p.m. and midnight
A 26-year-old man had his cell phone and his wallet stolen while at Cowboy Slim’s. He called his credit card company to find he had been charged $56 at a Super America.

Oct. 2, between 12 a.m. and 12:30 a.m.

A 33-year-old man attempted to buy marijuana but instead was robbed by the dealer.

22 Franklin Ave. E.
Sept. 27, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

A 22-year-old woman had her GPS and radar detector stolen from Clausen Service Center after having her car serviced.

Sept. 28, between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

A 50-year-old man returned to his vehicle after eating at the Black Forest Inn. Upon returning he noticed his driver-side window was broken. His radar detector was stolen.

Pillsbury Ave. S. and W. Lake St.
Oct. 3, 3 p.m.

An 18-year-old man left his jacket hanging on his chair at Karmel Coffee while he went to the bathroom. When he returned his wallet was missing from his coat pocket. He called to report his card stolen.

2920 Dean Pkwy
Sept. 19, 4 pm.

A witness observed a 32-year-old woman smash the windshield of a car parked on the street. The woman then reached in the car and removed a bag before leaving with an accomplice on bicycles. Officers later found the pair biking and detained them. The witness confirmed they were the same two seen smashing the car windshield. The woman was arrested and the bag was returned to the victim.


28th & Humboldt
Sept. 13, 1 p.m.

A 23-year-old man parked his car on the street before going skating on the Midtown Greenway. When he returned he discovered the front driver-side window had been smashed. An iPod and GPS unit were stolen.

2647 Lake of the Isles Pkwy E.
Sept. 15, 11:30 p.m.

An unknown suspect broke into a garage connected to the dwelling of a 24-year-old woman and took two bikes. The suspect also broke into a car in the garage and stole an iPad.


5025 Queens Ave. S.
Sept. 14, 5:30 p.m.

An 83-year-old woman was swindled out of $5,000 by an unknown suspect. The suspect told the woman he was a Minneapolis police officer investigating a counterfeiting case.


1518 W. 22nd St.
Sept. 13, 1:30 a.m.
A 66-year-old man heard noises coming from his garage in the middle of the night. Upon entering the garage, he discovered that a $4,000 bike had been stolen. The suspect apparently entered the garage through an unlocked service door.

Sept. 16, 8 p.m.

A 29-year-old man was shot multiple times and killed outside an apartment building. No arrests have been made.

+ 105 W. Lake St.
Sept. 19, 4:15 p.m.

An unknown suspect fired shots at an unknown target. The shots hit and damaged a car driven by a 30-year-old man. A 1-year-old girl was also in the vehicle. Nobody was injured.


CK Food & Fuel, 4751 Nicollet Ave. S.
Sept. 13–14, overnight

On the morning of Sept. 14, the business owner discovered that someone had removed his store’s sidewalk banner from its two stanchions. The banner was secured to the sidewalk by ropes and clips.


2828 Lyndale Ave. S.
Sept. 13, between 10 p.m. and midnight

A 31-year-old man parked his car in the Egg and I parking lot, then crossed the street and went to Tiger Sushi. When he returned a couple hours later, he discovered that the car’s rear passenger window had been smashed. His bag was stolen from the car.

SuperAmerica, 2200 Lyndale Ave. S.
Sept. 15, 10 p.m.

A juvenile woman reached over the store counter and took several packs of cigars without paying. When a clerk confronted her, the juvenile became hostile. She then left the scene in a silver car, license plate 131-BCE.

Hagen’s Auto Body, 2800 Lyndale Ave. S.
Sept. 16, 12:45 p.m.
A 27-year-old tow truck driver parked in front of the body shop and left his vehicle. While away, an unknown suspect approached on a bicycle, entered the truck and stole items from the cab.  


Kmart, 10 W. Lake St.
Sept. 14, 9 a.m.

An employee observed a 50-year-old man take a $75 DVD player from a display shelf, conceal the item under his jacket then attempt to leave the store without paying. The man later told police he attempted to steal the DVD player to raise money for drugs. He was charged with misdemeanor theft and banned from the store for six months.

Supervalu, 30 W. Lake St.
Sept. 14, 4 p.m.

A 36-year-old man concealed $61 worth of steak on his person, then attempted to leave the store without paying. He was arrested.

17 E. 24th St.
Sept. 19, noon

A 22-year-old woman told police her ex-boyfriend kicked in her apartment door and burglarized the residence.
