34th & Dupont
Aug. 4, 11:15 p.m.

Officers were dispatched to a multi-unit residential building on the report of a burglary of dwelling. Upon arrival they talked to a 23-year-old woman who said she was in the shower in her second-floor dwelling when she heard scraping at her window. She told officers she looked out her blind and saw a hand at the window, at which point the unknown suspect fled the scene. Officers observed a tear in the window screen and a garbage can near the rear of the building that may have been used in the incident. No arrests were made.

Cedar-Isles-Dean

Calhoun Commons, European Wax Center
Aug. 7, 8:15 p.m.

A 21-year-old female employee of the business told police she was about to close for the evening when three women entered and asked if they could look around. The women looked at products, and one of them asked if she could use the bathroom. When the woman left the restroom, all three of them quickly left the store. The employee said she quickly realized her wallet was missing. She attempted to contact TCF Bank to cancel her credit card but reached their automated after-hours number. The alleged victim told police that by the time she was able to contact TCF her account had been cleared out and overdraft fees had accrued as well. In one transaction, the suspects charged more than $530 to her card at Target.

Aug. 6, 11 p.m.

A 20-year-old man was allegedly punched in the face by an unknown suspect, who took the victim’s cellphone. The victim was bleeding from the mouth and had several teeth knocked loose as a result of the incident. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment, and no arrests were made.

+ Franklin & 2nd avenues
Aug. 7, 2:30 p.m.

A 63-year-old woman was approached from behind by two men. One allegedly distracted the victim while the other grabbed her purse. After a brief struggle, the suspects took the purse and left. No arrests were made.

Tangletown

+ 49th & Garfield
Aug. 2, 2 a.m.

While walking down the street, a 21-year-old man was allegedly robbed by two men in a green older-model Oldsmobile. One of the suspects brandished a gun and a total of $175 was taken from the victim, who was not physically harmed. After the incident, the suspects fled northbound on Harriet Avenue.

Aug. 8, 5:15 p.m.

A 15-year-old male told police an unknown suspect punched him in the face then stole his bike. No arrests were made.

+ 25th & Aldrich
Aug. 6, 11:15 a.m.

A 33-year-old woman told police she was home when she saw someone walk in her open front door. The woman screamed, at which time the unknown suspect fled.

West Calhoun

SuperAmerica, 3800 W. Lake St.
Aug. 6, 7 a.m.
A 57-year-old man told police he left his car running in the SuperAmerica parking lot and ran into the convenience store to make a couple quick purchases. While in the store, the victim told police he saw a black man — roughly 20 to 21 years of age, 5 feet 11 with a thin build, short hair and a baseball cap — enter his vehicle and drive off northbound on Ewing Ave. S. No arrests were made, but the incident was captured on the store’s security camera.

+ 24th & Nicollet
Aug. 2, 1:15 a.m.

A 40-year-old man was allegedly assaulted as part of an attempted robbery. After the incident, the victim transported himself to Abbott Northwestern Hospital for treatment.
No arrests were made.

29th & Pleasant
+ Aug. 3, 4 p.m.

A 34-year-old man told police he was robbed at gunpoint.

+ 57th & Lyndale
Aug. 8, 4 p.m.

A 38-year-old man told police he was home when three suspects entered his home, assaulted him and took his computer. Two teenage men and a teenage woman were arrested in connection with the incident.

July 19, 3:08 p.m.

A 42-year-old man was shot at while driving. He heard a loud explosion and noticed his car window had shattered. Police arrested a 13-year-old boy a short distance away and charged him with a felony for assault with a dangerous weapon and a misdemeanor for carrying a weapon without a permit.

July 19, 11:10 a.m.

While staff members were in a meeting at Revamp Salon, someone entered the building through an unlocked back door and stole cash from the safe.

1900 block of W. Franklin Ave.
July 22, 4:40 p.m.

Someone stole a pistol from the vehicle of a 32-year-old man who was parked for 35 minutes. When he returned to his vehicle, he saw shattered glass scattered around the car. He said the back window was broken out and a black bag with several items was missing, including the gun and a full magazine.

4600 block of Garfield Ave. S.
July 23, 9 a.m.–9:30 a.m.

Someone stole a camera, purse, wallet, iPod and bank debit cards from a single-family home. The suspect entered through the family’s unlocked back door when one member of the household was in the yard and the other was in her bedroom. The suspect also used one of the victims’ bankcards at a Minneapolis gas station. Police estimated the total loss at $1,030.

July 20, 9:00 p.m.–7:45 a.m.

A 30-year-old woman’s car was legally parked on the street on the night of the 20th and she returned the next morning to find it missing. There was no glass on the ground where her vehicle was parked.

1700 block of Bryant Ave. S.
July 21, time unknown

Several vehicles were broken into in the underground garage of an apartment building. One victim, a 27-year-old woman, said her front driver’s side window had been smashed and her GPS unit and cassette adapter were missing.

800 block of Douglas Ave.
July 23, time unknown

An unknown suspect broke into multiple cars parked in a garage. One victim said the suspect broke into her car between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Another victim noticed his GPS system was missing and said he thinks the perpetrator used a screwdriver or a similar device to pry open the window.

July 21, 1:14 a.m.

A 27-year-old man was struck with a gun and robbed. He was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment.

+ 29th St. W. & Bryant Ave. S.
July 19, 9:00 a.m.

An unidentified suspect knocked a 31-year-old man off his bike. The man fell to the ground and sustained a fractured skull and broken collarbone.

2800 block of Girard Ave. S.
July 19, 6:00 p.m.

A legally blind 18-year-old man met a homeless man on a bus and agreed to allow him into his apartment for a glass of water. While inside the apartment, the suspect stole several items. The victim was still able to provide some suspect information.

July 23, 3:48 a.m.

Witnesses flagged down officers after a 25-year-old woman was assaulted by at least two men who left her unconscious and fled the scene. Officers arrested the men a few blocks away.

22nd St. & Nicollet Ave. S.
July 21, 10 p.m.

A 27-year-old man reported his car’s passenger front side window was shattered and a cell phone charger and a wallet containing credit cards and a driver’s license were stolen. He said the phone charger and wallet were in plain view on the passenger front seat.

July 21, 10:30 p.m.

Two male suspects robbed five people at gunpoint in their apartment and stole a cell phone and iPod. The two men fled on foot.
