Minneapolis police arrested Charles Medgar Hall in connection with a string of Southwest burglaries.
Between July 13 and Aug. 3 there were nine burglaries of secured underground parking garages in the 5th Precinct. In each burglary, the suspect broke into victim’s vehicles by smashing windows or prying open car doors, then removed items such as GPS units, stereos, golf clubs and money.
According to police, there were a total of at least 52 thefts from motor vehicles or property damage crimes committed by the suspect, amounting to a total loss of over $100,000.
Hall, 48, was charged with felonies in connection with two of the incidents, but he is the principal suspect in all nine burglaries. Police said he confessed involvement in other burglaries and more charges from the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office are forthcoming.
