+ 3200 block of Bryant Ave. S. June 8, 9:45 p.m.
A 44-year-old man was arrested after striking his girlfriend, 40, with a dining chair, inflicting a serious head injury. She was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment. The man was booked at the Hennepin County Jail and was charged with felony second-degree domestic abuse.

East Isles

2448 Hennepin Ave. S. June 13, 10 p.m.
A male suspect threatened two workers at the Holiday gas station, implying he had a gun in the waistband of his pants. The suspect took all the cash from the cash register and the drop box. Surveillance cameras captured footage of the robbery.


2300 block of Cromwell Drive. June 9, 10:00 a.m.
An unknown suspect entered the unlocked front door of a single-family home and stole a purse and fanny pack containing cash, house and car keys, credit cards, a debit card, a camera and an iPod that were in the dining room. The approximate total value of the stolen property was $245. The residents of the home, a 47-year-old woman and her husband, were in the backyard doing yard work.

Linden Hills

3322 W. 44 St. June 7, 5:00 p.m.
An unknown suspect attempted to break into Dunrite Automotive. The reporting person found the dead bolt lock on the front business door broken into two pieces even though the bolt was still extended into the doorframe. Police reported there were no alarms or surveillance cameras. The estimated damage was $30.

Lowry Hill

1700 block of Hennepin Ave. S. June 12, 10 p.m.
An unknown suspect broke into a parked car through the passenger side window, stealing a GPS unit from the center console and an iPhone from the car’s owner, a 23-year-old woman.                                    


3500 block of Harriet Ave. S. June 9, 11:15 p.m.–11:40 p.m.
Two unknown suspects cut through the screen of a kitchen window, entered the apartment of a 24-year-old woman and stole various items. The woman returned to her apartment and saw the backs of the suspects as they escaped through the front door.

Stevens Square

+ 300 block of 18 St. E. June 7, 1:40 p.m.

A male suspect possibly stabbed a woman multiple times with a large knife inside of the ground level apartment before fleeing the scene. The 39-year-old woman let her dog outside shortly before the incident and returned to find an unknown man in her building. She fought the suspect before he escaped out the back door. The woman was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center.

Franklin & Nicollet, June 9, 4:30 p.m.
An unknown suspect pulled a knife on a woman, 48, and threatened to kill her. The victim then ran away. She was not injured.

1900 Clinton Ave. S. June 13, 2:10 p.m.
Two men were arrested after breaking into an apartment building. The victim, a 34-year-old man, saw them break in, stopped them and discovered the suspects were carrying burglary tools. Both of the suspects were booked at Hennepin County Jail for burglary.


115 E. 54 St. June 11, 11:00 a.m.
An unknown suspect entered the secure garage area of Creekside Commons apartment building without force and damaged the property by breaking several exit signs, emergency lamps, windows and thermostat covers. The interior of the garage is covered with surveillance cameras.


+ 25th & Garfield, June 11, 2:15 a.m.
A 35-year-old man was riding home on his bicycle and stopped at the intersection to send a text message on his cell phone. Another man approached him and demanded he hand over his cell phone and wallet. The suspect brandished a long-barreled revolver. The victim pleaded to keep his wallet and asked the suspect to take only his cash, instead. The suspect agreed and seized his cell phone and $40 cash. The suspect was described as having a dark complexion with a medium length natural afro with blonde tips wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt.

+ 2600 block of Pleasant Ave. S. June 13, 10:20 p.m.
An unidentified suspect robbed a 32-year-old woman at gunpoint. She refused medical attention.

+ 200 block W. Lake St. June 10, 9:40 p.m.

Two unidentified suspects robbed and assaulted a 61-year-old man. He declined medical attention.

2600 block of Blaisdell Ave. S. June 13, 4:30 p.m.
An unidentified suspect broke into an apartment building and stole cash from a shoebox on top of a dresser. The woman who lives in the apartment said she left her two sons inside and said one of her sons kept entering and leaving the apartment room. There was no damage.

2700 Nicollet Ave. S. June 11, 5:15 a.m.
An unidentified suspect robbed Emily’s Beauty Salon, leaving with $2,000 cash and other miscellaneous items.

2012 Nicollet Ave. S. June 11, 12:30 p.m.
A 56-year-old man found his unoccupied stolen vehicle in the parking lot of Franklin-Nicollet Liquor Store. He had a spare vehicle key and recovered it, observing no damage or loss from the vehicle. The security camera from the liquor store captured a visual of the suspect, possibly a woman. The suspect entered the liquor store at 12:30 p.m. and once she returned to the car, she tried starting it but it appeared the battery had died, so she walked away.

+ 55th & Penn, May 26, 3:30 a.m.
Four unknown suspects approached a 22-year-old male and unsuccessfully tried to rob him of a necklace. Victim was struck and received a minor cut below his left eye.


3200 block of W. Lake St. May 27, 9:35 p.m.
A 24-year-old male and friends stopped to eat at Burger Jones. When they returned to their vehicle they found the rear passenger window broken into. A backpack and green duffle bag were stolen. The party was informed that a patrol couldn’t be sent for another half hour and was advised to fill report online. Security guard from Calhoun Village Strip Mall logged the incident.


3400 block of Nicollet Ave S. May 27, 2:04 a.m.
An off-duty officer at a Super America gas station saw a 38-year-old male walk into the station, take two quarts of motor oil, walk out without paying and drive away. The officer followed the man and initiated a stop in front of 3536 Nicollet Ave. S. He then proceeded to arrest man for theft. During this process it was found that the man had a cancelled Minnesota drivers license and no insurance on the vehicle.

4355 Nicollet Ave. S. May 29, 5:30 p.m.
The 44th Street Nursery was burglarized. Someone entered through the fence by cutting a hole in the chain links. Phone lines were cut and entry was forced. No arrests have been made at this time.

3000 block of Nicollet Ave. S. May 30, 12:10 p.m.
A 60-year-old male left his car running and unlocked while he went inside a building. The car previously had trouble starting and was on loan from a female friend. He returned a few minutes later to find the car gone.

Stevens Square

+ 22nd & Garfield, May 18, 1:45 a.m.
Two friends, one 21 years old and the other 34 years old, were walking home when they were ordered at gunpoint to sit on the ground by a suspect. The 34-year-old man ran away while 21-year-old male stayed and followed orders. No one was injured.

+ 1800 block of 3rd Ave. S. May 29, 1:50 a.m.
An employee of A Slice of New York was robbed on the 2400 block of Nicollet Ave. S. The victim, a 36-year-old male, was approached by a masked person who held him at gunpoint then ran off. No injuries were sustained.

The Wedge

2800 block of Lyndale Ave. S. May 25, 3:30 p.m.

The Intermedia Arts donation box was smashed in a burglary. Police suspect the burglars entered through the front door, grabbed the box, left through the back door of the building, smashed the box, took the cash and ran. The box was found in the parking lot. No one saw the incident, but loud noise reportedly was heard in the parking lot.


2700 block of Nicollet Ave. S. May 24, 12:43 a.m.

The Quang Restaurant was burglarized. The police responded to a business alarm and found the north window of the building broken out. No suspects at this time.

2700 block of Blaisdell Ave. S. May 24, 7 p.m.
A 48-year-old man’s car was broken into while on loan to 67-year-old male friend. The older man had parked the vehicle behind his apartment building when the front passenger window was smashed and the center console and glove box were ransacked.

100 block of 22nd Street E. May 25, 5:30 p.m and May 26, 9 p.m.
Two of three copper downspouts were stolen from a 60-year-old man’s house. The next night thieves came back to steal the other downspout. The man checked at the local scrap yard and found that someone attempted to sell copper pieces similar to those stolen from him. The business would not release to him the suspects’ information or if they had kept the copper.

+ 29th & Nicollet, May 28, 12:32 a.m.
A 26-year-old man was riding his bike west on the Midtown Greenway when two suspects approached him on foot under the Nicollet Avenue bridge. One suspect pushed him into the fence and took his bike. They left him heading westbound.

24th & Clinton, May 30, 6:30 p.m.
A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged for auto theft. When apprehended, the male was standing near the stolen vehicle urinating. He went into custody without incident, and the keys were found on the ground where he was standing.


5800 block of Grand Ave. S. May 25, 8 p.m.
A 61-year-old man parked two vehicles in his driveway. Both were broken into through unlocked doors and ransacked. Someone then entered the man’s unattached garage through an unlocked service door and entered a third vehicle.
