The Minneapolis Open Street/Ciclovia event this Sunday, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., will turn a 20-block stretch of Lyndale into a car-free zone.
There will be all kinds of events and activities on Lyndale between 22nd and 42nd streets, including a children’s parade, yoga, bicycle repair stations and more.
Here’s a snapshot of activities planned:
— (10 a.m.) Opening ceremonies featuring many public officials, including Mayor R.T. Rybak, at the Midtown Greenway Bridge near Lyndale & 29th.
— (10:30 a.m.) Children’s bike decorating and then parade at Bethlehem Church, 4100 Lyndale Ave. S. Gorilla Yogis will be holding an outdoor practice at Lyndale & Lake. Live music starts at various spots along Lyndale. Nice Ride is sponsoring slow races at Lyndale & Lake.
