Jan. 10, 12:15 p.m.33rd St. & Hennepin Ave. S.
+ While walking down the street, a 22-year-old woman was approached from behind and punched in the face twice. The suspect took the woman’s purse and fled on foot.

Jan. 7, 11:30 p.m. 3000 block of Aldrich Ave. S.
A 22-year-old male called police to report that $450 had been stolen from his residence while he was away.

WHITTIER

Jan. 8, 11:15 p.m. 2500 block of Harriet Ave. S.

+ A 39-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint by four men. No arrests were made in connection with the robbery.

Jan. 10, 1 a.m. Harriet Ave. S. & W. 24th St.
+ A 21-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint. No arrests have been made.

Jan. 8, 5:30 a.m. 2000 3rd Ave. S.
+ A 26-year-old man was robbed of all of his cash by three men while fueling his vehicle at BP. The suspects implied that they had guns, but didn’t reveal weapons. The suspects then fled in a car, unapprehended.

Jan. 5, 8 p.m. 24th St. W. & Grand Ave. S.
+ A 22-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint by two males. No arrests were made in connection with the robbery.

Jan. 9, 10 p.m. 10 W. Lake St.
A 47-year-old man was arrested after he took a $299.99 television from a store display at Kmart and attempted to leave the store without paying.

WEST CALHOUN

Jan. 8, 9:30 a.m. 3000 block of Ewing Ave. S.
A 54-year-old man observed his car being driven away from his parking lot by an unknown female. Shortly thereafter, police pulled over a vehicle for running a red light. The vehicle was identified as the one stolen from the man’s parking lot. The 31-year-old female suspect allegedly attempted to bribe the arresting officer with sexual favors if he agreed to release her. She was later booked for auto theft and bribery.

LOWRY HILL EAST

Jan. 5, 6 a.m. 2400 block of Hennepin Ave. S.
A 47-year-old man discovered a pile of glass where he had parked his car the night before. The man told police that he left a spare key in the vehicle’s glove box. No arrests were made in connection with the incident.

Jan. 10, 1:20 a.m. 2200 Lyndale Ave. S.
Two 20-year-old women were arrested and charged with misdemeanor shoplifting from SuperAmerica.

KINGFIELD

Jan. 6, 11 p.m. 4100 block of Grand Ave. S.
A 32-year-old female’s home was burglarized while she was away. The front door was kicked in.

STEVENS SQUARE


Jan. 4, 3:25 a.m. 1900 block of Clinton Ave. S.

+ A 26-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint while walking down the sidewalk. No arrests were made in connection with the robbery.

Jan. 7, 3 p.m. 1816 Nicollet Ave. S.
The manager of Family Dollar called police to report that a person who he suspected of stealing from the store on previous occasions just stole socks and a pair of capri-style pants.

EAST HARRIET

4001 Lyndale Ave. S.,

Dec. 27, 4:30 a.m.

Three masked suspects burglarized the SuperAmerica. Officers were called to the scene, but the suspects were gone before they arrived. The manager said the only thing he noticed missing was $80 worth of cigarettes. 

4000 block of Garfield Avenue South, Dec. 25, 9:30 p.m.

+ An 18-year-old man told police that his uncle attempted to stab him multiple times with a fork. Police noted that the victim suffered scrapes to his left cheek. 

EAST ISLES

Dec. 22, 3:40 p.m.,

2800 block of Humboldt

Avenue South

Police responded to a call regarding a suspicious person loitering around parked vehicles in the area. Upon arrival, police took note of two vehicles that had been broken into, one with the front passenger-side window broken and the stereo removed. Police were unable to locate the owner of the vehicle or obtain evidence that could help them identify a criminal suspect.

 

 

FULTON

3700 50th St. W.,

Dec. 27, 4:50 a.m.

Three suspects attempted to break into the Holiday Station Store. They damaged the window of the front door. Police obtained video footage of the incident. 

 

 

KENNY

6100 block of Lyndale Avenue South, Dec. 23, 9:00 a.m.

+ A 38-year-old woman told police that a 52-year-old man punched her in the mouth and kicked a newborn baby. 

 

 

LOWRY HILL

1700 block of Bryant Avenue South, Dec. 24, 7:30 a.m.

A victim was on vacation when his apartment was burglarized. 

 

 

LOWRY HILL EAST

Dec. 25, 12:30 a.m., 2800 block of Colfax Avenue South

+ A woman called police reporting that her boyfriend assaulted her with a gun. Responding officers were not able to locate the suspect or the weapon he allegedly used in the assault. 

Dec. 24, 2 p.m., 

2317 Hennepin Avenue South 

The owner of Studiiyo23 was attending to customers when someone allegedly stole five credit cards from the store’s counter. 

 

 

LYNDALE

3536 Nicollet Ave. S.,

Dec. 24, 2:30 p.m.

Three suspects took reusable Family Dollar Store bags and filled them with unknown items and left the store without paying. 

3108 Pleasant Ave. S.,

Overnight Dec. 25 to Dec. 26

A 38-year-old man told police his vehicle was stolen from the front of his residence. The vehicle had not been impounded and the man had the keys. 

 

 

STEVENS SQUARE

1816 Nicollet Ave. S.,

Dec. 21, 8 p.m.

An officer apprehended a 41-year-old man on the street after the suspect eluded a store clerk at the Family Dollar Store. The officer observed that the suspect’s pants and coat were bulky, and escorted the man back into the store for a pat-down search, which revealed that he had stolen $92.74 of merchandise. The suspect told police that he works as an informant for the Minneapolis Police Department. Though the suspect was initially ticketed, the officer decided to book him after the suspect told the officer, “man that ticket will be burnt up.”

An hour later, police responded to the same Family Dollar Store after a woman entered the store, placed items in a basket and exited without paying. A manager told police that the woman had stolen from the store in the past. The suspect was not apprehended. 

WHITTIER

2121 Garfield Ave. S.,

Overnight Dec. 22 to Dec. 23

A 35-year-old man parked his vehicle in a lot behind his residence. When he returned the next day, the vehicle was missing. The man said the ignition key was missing, but didn’t know when or where it went missing.

10 W. Lake St., Dec. 23, 6 p.m.

A 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were arrested for theft after they left Kmart without paying for items. 

120 W. Lake St., 

Dec. 24, 1:15 a.m. 

+ Three people wearing black ski masks robbed the Kolna Coffee at gunpoint. The suspects were gone before police arrived.
