Dec. 9, 12:30 p.m.
2855 Hennepin Ave. S.

+ A 13-year-old boy threatened to rob people at the Uptown Transit Station, saying he had a gun. Officers arrested the boy but did not recover a weapon.

Overnight Dec. 9 to Dec. 10
1440 W. Lake St.

An unknown suspect entered the Suit Up business overnight and stole $2,800 worth of suits and dress clothing. No force was evident on the building, but the back doors were unlocked when the business was opened the next day.

Dec. 7, 6 a.m.

Officers were alerted to a vehicle in Lake Harriet, behind the band shell. The vehicle was towed from the lake. The owner said the vehicle had been stolen.

3300 block of Blaisdell Ave. S.

+ A 50-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were assaulted by a suspect they live with.


Dec. 8, 10:45 a.m.
2752 Lyndale Ave. S.

+ The Subway restaurant was robbed.

Overnight Dec. 8 to Dec. 9
2704 Lyndale Ave. S.
An officer on patrol discovered a broken window at the Sunnyside Up Café. The suspect fled the scene and the window was boarded up.


Dec. 9 or Dec. 10
4701 Nicollet Ave. S.

An unknown suspect broke into a Betz Builders construction trailer and took multiple tools. The owner said the same thing happened two months earlier. He told police the company does not have insurance, but most of the tools are marked “Betz.”

4608 Stevens Ave. S.

A 66-year-old man told police that unknown suspects broke into his garage and stole his lawnmowers.

Dec. 10, 1:30 p.m.
201 49th St. W.

+ A 16-year-old student at Washburn High School was struck with in the head with a large glass bottle. The boy sustained lacerations to his head that required stitches. The suspect, another student, was identified by witnesses but did not find the students on first check at the school-listed address.


Overnight Dec. 7 into Dec. 8
3146 Calhoun Blvd.

An unknown suspect broke in the back door of an apartment building, likely using a crow bar. Once inside, the suspect broke into the laundry room and tried to remove the cash machine from the wall. The suspect was unsuccessful and only damaged the wall. All doors to the building are locked and need electronic access. The apartment staff had already begun repairing the damage, and police were unable to lift fingerprints from the scene.


Dec. 10, 1:30 p.m.
2001 Lyndale Ave. S.

A police officer was called to help an EMS crew and found an intoxicated 47-year-old woman. The officer took the woman to Detox. While walking onto the elevator, the woman spit in the officer’s face. The woman was arrested on charges of assaulting a police officer.

Dec. 11, 1:45 p.m.
2001 Nicollet Ave. S.

An unknown suspect robbed the CVS/pharmacy. The suspect was gone when officers arrived. Surveillance discs were retrieved from the store and the case is under investigation.

Dec. 12, 10 a.m.
610 28th St. W.

A suspect entered Salem Lutheran Church through a hole, as the church is under renovation. The suspect then left through the front door, dragging the church’s snow blower. The suspect put the machine in his truck and took off.

6050 Nicollet Ave. S.

A woman parker her car at the Tailgate Sports Café. When she returned 90 minutes later, the front passenger window had been smashed and her laptop computer from her work was missing.

+Nov. 26, 1 p.m.
2924 Chowen Ave. S.

A 63-year-old man parked outside of the above address and an unknown suspect removed 19 of 20 lug nuts from the wheels. When the victim tried to leave in the morning, some of the wheels fell off his vehicle.



+Nov. 29, 6 a.m.
2828 Hennepin Ave. S.

A 45-year-old female was parked at the Uptown YMCA (2808 Hennepin Ave. S). The victim was in the gym from 6 a.m. until 7:15 a.m. When she returned to her car, the rear driver-side window was broken and a laptop was missing.

+Nov. 29, 6:45 p.m.
26th Street West and Humboldt Avenue South

A 71-year-old man parked his car on Humboldt Avenue South. While gone, an unknown suspect used an unknown object to break the passenger-side front window. The suspect entered the vehicle without opening the door and removed the GPS from the dashboard of the vehicle. The victim could not find any heavy objects around the car.



Nov. 23, 6 a.m.
36 Street West and Nicollet Avenue

A 32-year-old man ran out of gas near the above location. When he returned to the spot he had left his vehicle, it was gone. He had the only keys and there are no known suspects.

Nov. 24, 7:22 p.m.
3453 Nicollet Ave. S.

Two unknown suspects walked into a SuperAmerica and stole a twelve pack of Budweiser beer. The pair grabbed the beer from the cooler and ran out of the store. No arrests were made.

Nov. 23, 3 p.m.
34th Street West and Nicollet Avenue South

The rear doors of two buildings were damaged and money was taken from the 25-cent candy machines inside each building. Suspects broke the machines open to get the money.

+ Nov. 25, 9:43 p.m.
32nd Street West and Harriet Avenue South

A 23-year-old man was walking home when male suspects approached him from two separate directions. The suspects demanded money and pointed a handgun at him. The suspects removed the victim’s wallet from his back pocket and ran west on 32nd Street.

1806 3rd Ave. S.

A 32-year-old man awoke to find his television moved and his front door broken. Various items had been taken.

+Nov. 24, 6 p.m.
1516 Lake Street W.

A 32-year-old woman legally parked in the rear parking lot of a business. When she returned to the parking lot, her car was missing. Unknown suspects used unknown tools to remove the vehicle.



+Nov. 23, 2:45 p.m.
2200 Blaisdell Ave. S.

Two male suspects entered a 41-year-old man’s apartment and demanded $20. The suspects punched the victim and fled the premises. The victim’s home health care aid then notified police.

Nov. 27, 7 a.m.
2621 Pillsbury Ave. S

A 22-year-old woman left a locked apartment to take her husband to work. When she returned, she found the apartment front door kicked in. There appeared to be no lost valuables and the victim called 911.

Nov. 28, 7:43 p.m.
30 Lake Street W.  

At Sullivan Food Market, a 49-year-old man attempted to shoplift seven bags of frozen shrimp. When approached by officers, the man took off running north on Blaisdell Avenue. Officers found the man hiding between two apartment buildings. When searched, officers found three bags of shrimp in his left jacket pocket and four in his left pant leg. The shrimp was returned.  

Nov. 29, 8:17 p.m.
2105 Lyndale Ave. S.

A 23-year-old man was observed shoplifting from a grocery store. The man was taking three beef sirloin and New York strip-steaks. He tried to exit the store, but staff called police. Staff retrieved items hidden in the man’s waistband. An initial police search found injection needles in the man’s pocket. He then admitted to the officers that the needles were for drug use. The man was arrested for possession of injection equipment.
