Crime reports

July 21, 4:30 p.m., 3217 Emerson Ave. S.
A man said he left to run an errand and returned to his apartment to find that his front and rear doors wide open. When he went to his bedroom he found his jewelry box, prescription medication and birth certificate taken from his shelf. He has two roommates, but they were not home at the time of the burglary. He may have left his doors unlocked. There were no signs of forced entry and no evidence to process.

+ July 24, 6:22 p.m., 3515 Harriet Ave. S.
The victim was robbed in front of the above location. Another man witnessed the robbery and chased the suspects until he was threatened with an implied gun.

July 25, 9:30 p.m., Intersection of Fremont Ave. S. and 29th St. W.
A man parked his car on the corner and went to watch a movie at the Lagoon movie theater. When he returned to the vehicle, he saw a shirt from in the car on the sidewalk. A backpack full of books was taken from the vehicle.


July 20, 6 p.m., 2896 James Ave. S.
A man locked his bike onto a bike rack with a cable style lock. When he returned to ride his bike, he found that an unknown suspect had removed the bike rack and cut the cable of the lock.

July 21, 9:30 p.m., 2316 Hennepin Ave. S.

An unknown suspect removed a 7-foot statue of the videogame character Mario from a front yard, where it had been strapped to a tree. The owner said the only way the statue could have been taken was with a pickup truck.  

July 25, 6:20 p.m., corner of 28th St. W. and Lake Isles PK. E.
A woman parked her car and went for a walk around the lake. When she returned, she saw that her front passenger window was broken and her purse was missing. She had placed her purse under the passenger seat upon arrival.



July 25, 4:15 p.m., 5304 Fremont Ave. S.

A woman forgot to close her garage door. The door was left open all night, and she found that her lime green touring bike was stolen by an unknown suspect.



+ July 21, 12:55 a.m., 34th St. W. & Grand Ave. S.
Two suspects, one male and one female, robbed two people and fled on foot.

July 23, 7 p.m., 3619 Grand Ave. S.

An unknown suspect cut the screen to the victim’s four-season patio. The suspect then took a set of keys that were on a table by the window. The suspect likely reached inside the home and removed the keys from the table. The victim has changed the house locks.



July 24, 11 p.m., 5056 Penn Ave. S.
A man parked his car in the rear driveway of his home. When he returned to the vehicle, he found the front passenger window broken. Change totaling $10 was missing from the vehicle and a large screwdriver was sitting on the front passenger seat. The suspect broke the window with the screwdriver that was left behind. Officers inventoried the screwdriver.



July 20, 2 p.m., 2813 Hennepin Ave. S.
A female was working alone at the clothing store. She was busy assisting customers while the suspect sat waiting for the group by the front counter. The suspect left abruptly and was followed by the group. The victim noticed that her wallet containing cash, credit cards and identification had been taken out of her purse stored behind the counter.



July 25, 1:00 a.m., 5150 Gladstone Ave.
The victim parked his vehicle outside of his detached garage with the doors unlocked. The garage door opener was inside the vehicle. An unknown suspect entered the vehicle, opened the garage, and stole a grey and black Gary Fisher mountain bike.



+ July 21, 2:43 p.m., 2000 Nicollet Ave. S.

An unknown suspect took money from the victim by force.

+ July 21, 2:40 a.m., 27th St. E. and Nicollet Ave. S.
Two unknown suspects tried to take the victim’s bag. One of the suspects may have had a weapon on his hand. The other suspect chased the victim north on Nicollet. A witness grabbed the suspect and tried to hold him, but the suspect pulled away and headed west on 26th Street. One suspect attempted to hit the victim, but the victim was able to move away from the suspect and run.
