Minneapolis lifted its winter parking restrictions today in response to a stretch of warm weather that is melting the city’s snowbanks.
The restrictions, which banned parking on the even side of non-snow-emergency routes, were set in February when snow piles narrowed streets, making them difficult for emergency vehicles to navigate. April 1 was the initial date set for the restrictions to be lifted.
Parking rules are back to normal, except on Bryant Avenue from Lake Street to 50th Street and Grand Avenue from Lake Street to 48th Street, where signs are posted. Restrictions will be in place on those roads until April 1 to allow transit access.
