Jan. 13, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m., 6120 Thomas Ave. S.
While the homeowner was at work, an unknown suspect kicked in a side door, went upstairs and took jewelry from a jewelry box. Police took several small drawers from the box to be inventoried and checked for fingerprints.
Between 5 p.m. Jan. 14 and 2 p.m. Jan. 15, 6049 Newton Ave. S.
A car was stolen from a garage that the owner thinks was left open. The car was stolen with the keys, which were in the ashtray.
Jan. 16, from 6 p.m.–6:30 p.m., 26th St. W. and East Lake of the Isles Parkway
A woman parked her car near the lake while she went for a run and returned to find the front passenger window smashed and a bag gone from the front seat.
Jan. 15, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., 5104 Abbott Ave. S.
A man left his house around 8 a.m. and returned at 4 p.m. to find his back door broken and a laptop and $60 missing. No neighbors in the area reported seeing anything.
Jan. 13, 3 p.m., 4351 France Ave. S.
Three suspects took several bottles of alcohol from France 44 Wine & Spirits without paying and left in a red and white Chevy. A St. Louis Park police squad stopped the car at Lake Street and Thomas Avenue and an officer saw four unopened alcohol bottles in plain view. Three of the bottles belonged to the business and were returned. Two suspects were cited for theft.
+ Jan. 18, 7:10 p.m., 3220 Blaisdell Ave. S.
Multiple suspects attempted to rob a 38-year-old man with a baseball bat. The suspects demanded money and swung the bat twice at the man’s head, but he ducked and was not injured. He fought the suspects off until they gave up and fled on foot. The suspects were gone when police arrived.
+ Jan. 17, 12 a.m., 1926 3rd Ave. S.
Officers were dispatched to the area on a shots-fired call and arrested a 23-year-old man for assault. A shooting victim was admitted to Hennepin County Medical Center five hours later, but was uncooperative with police.
Jan. 12, 10 40 p.m., 4628 Grand Ave. S.
Officers were dispatched to a report of a theft in progress and arrived at the scene to find a witness who had used a baseball bat to confront a suspect who ripped the cover off a parked car’s steering column with a large screwdriver. The car had been unlocked and the screwdriver was left at the scene.
Jan. 13, 10:30 a.m., 10 W. Lake St.
Police were dispatched to a call that Kmart employees were holding a theft suspect. Upon their arrival, a witness said he saw a woman take a pink Disney television and place it in an empty stroller. She then took two sweatshirts and placed them over the television. A man who was with her added a Sony Blu-ray player to the stroller and pushed it past all the cash registers before he was stopped. Both the man and woman were cited for theft and released.
+ Jan. 16, 10 p.m., 22nd St. E. and Nicollet Ave. S.
Four suspects assaulted a 48-year-old man while he was waiting for a bus and fled when the bus arrived. The man, bleeding from his mouth, got on the bus and arrived at another person’s home about 40 minutes later. He told the other person about the attack, but did not report it to police. When he woke up the next morning, his jaw was severely swollen and he could not speak, so the person he was with called police and reported the incident. Officers observed a swollen left cheek and called an ambulance, which took the man to North Memorial Hospital for treatment. Suspect descriptions were vague.

A 59-year-old man was robbed of a $20 bill at gunpoint.
