Candidates seeking the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board seat currently held by Bob Fine are set to take part in a forum tonight.
District 6 covers far Southwest, including Lake Harriet and the western portion of Lake Calhoun. Fine has been the District 6 commissioner for two terms, and although he is seeking reelection to the board this year, he opted to run citywide.
The candidates seeking to follow him are Brad Bourn, a nonprofit youth coordinator; Meg Forney, a Realtor and frequent parks volunteer; Geneva Hanvik, a recent college graduate with a degree in political science; and Steve Jecha, executive director of the Southwest Hockey Association.
The forum is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. today at Washburn Library, 5244 Lyndale Ave. S.
