CARAG
Between 11:21 p.m. Oct. 3 and 12:30 a.m. Oct. 4, 3120 Dupont Ave. S.
A woman called police to report that a suspicious vehicle had been parked at 3120 Dupont Ave. for a couple days. The woman said a man parked there and told her he would return with a tow. He never came back. An officer searched the license plate information and discovered that the car was wanted in a Minneapolis hit and run case. The officer had the car towed to the Minneapolis impound lot.

CEDAR-ISLES-DEAN
+ Oct. 3, 9:19 a.m., 3800 Lake St. W.
A 39-year-old man was robbed at knifepoint. The unknown suspect fled on foot. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

EAST ISLES
Oct. 4, between 8:54 p.m. and 9 p.m., 2650 Hennepin Ave. S.
While eating inside a restaurant, a 34-year-old man noticed a male suspect break the driver’s side window out of his car, which was in the parking lot. He ran out to confront the suspect, who had taken the GPS computer from the car. The suspect said he was just trying to take care of his children and that he was sorry. He dropped the computer on the ground before fleeing westbound on a black mountain bike.

KINGFIELD
Between 4:16 p.m. on Oct. 3 and 1:13 p.m. on Oct. 4, 4206 Grand Ave. S.
A burglar pried open the service door of an unattached garage and stole two auto tires. There is no suspect information and no collectable evidence was found at the scene.

Between 9 p.m. on Oct. 3 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 4, 4505 Garfield Ave. S.
A burglar pried open the door latch of a service door on an unattached garage. The interior of the unlocked vehicle inside the garage was ransacked, but nothing was stolen from the vehicle. There were some items taken from inside the garage. The burglar left behind a bicycle.


LYNDALE

Oct. 1, between 6:58 p.m. to 9:33 p.m., 10 32 W. St.
A 54-year old MTC bus driver reported that his backpack had been stolen during his route on the northbound 17 line. He had work tools, a ticket punch, prescription eyewear and books inside his backpack.

WEST CALHOUN
Between 10 p.m. Oct. 2 and 2:45 a.m. Oct. 3, 3810 W. 31 St.
A 52-year-old woman found the front passenger window of her car smashed. The glove box and center console had been rifled through but nothing was taken. The car was parked in a secured underground parking area of the apartment building. Police found no evidence that force was used on the secure doors to gain entry to the area.

Between 10 p.m. Oct. 2 and 2:45 a.m. on Oct. 3, 3810 W. 31 St.
Unknown suspect(s) smashed the front passenger window of a 25-year old woman’s car, which was parked in the secure underground parking area of her apartment building. Items were stolen from the dash console. Police found no evidence that force was used on the secured doors of the parking area. There is no suspect information.


WHITTIER

Oct. 3, between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m., 17 E. 24 St.
A 24-year old woman let a 20-year-old man that she knew stay with her for the evening in her apartment. When she woke up in the morning, she discovered he had stolen her 42-inch television, two cell phones, a Wii entertainment system, a digital camera and a pack of cigarettes.

Oct. 4, between 10 a.m. and 6:15 p.m., 2515 Nicollet Ave. S.
After leaving work, a 39-year-old woman found that her car had been broken into and items stolen. The victim talked to a man on the other side of the street who had witnessed the theft. He said he saw another man take items out of her car but did not want to get involved. He would not give the woman his name or number.

+ Oct. 5, 10:46 p.m., intersection of 24th and Lyndale  
A 30-year-old man was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon after stabbing a 41-year-old man outside Leaning Tower of Pizza. Several witnesses were at the scene. The victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where he was reported to be in stable condition.

CARAG

A bike was stolen off a Metro Transit bicycle rack while the owner was on the bus, seated behind the driver.

ECCO

Between 6 p.m. Sept. 24 and 8 a.m. Sept. 25, 3516 Holmes Ave. S.
An unknown suspect entered a detached garage through an unlocked service door and rummaged through an unlocked vehicle. The victim said thieves had targeted his vehicle twice in the last month while it was in his driveway.

LOWRY HILL

Sept. 25, between 7:15 a.m. and 3:25 p.m.
The rear passenger window of the victim’s vehicle was smashed in and a purse was taken. A credit card, Target card and health savings account card were used. More than $300 was charged to the credit card.

LYNDALE

Sept. 23, between 2 a.m. and 10 a.m., 3515 Lyndale Ave. S.
A car window was smashed and everything of value was taken including a GPS and stereo.

STEVENS SQUARE

Sept. 23, between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., 1822 Lasalle Ave.
A man left his apartment for an hour and returned to find the front door kicked in. He suspected the burglary was interrupted because several items of value directly inside the door were not taken.

WEST CALHOUN

Between 8 p.m. Sept. 23 and 7 a.m. Sept. 24, 3126 W. Calhoun Blvd.
Police were dispatched to a vehicle break-in in a garage. The victim, a 34-year-old man, said someone opened the garage door, shattered the vehicle’s driver’s side window and rummaged through it. Possibly missing was a series of personal checks from a closed account. The man said he saw a possible suspect lurking in the area during the previous couple days.

Between 11 p.m. Sept. 23 and 8:30 a.m. Sept. 24, 3140 W. Calhoun Blvd.
A young woman told police her bicycle was stolen from her garage stall and her vehicle had been rummaged through. Police took two items from the vehicle and another bicycle at the scene to be inventoried for prints.

WHITTIER

Sept. 22, 2:30 p.m., 28th Street West and Pillsbury Avenue South
Officers were dispatched to a shots-fired call and found that a bullet hit the outside mirror of the victim’s vehicle. No one was injured.

+ Sept. 22, between 2 a.m. and 2:15 a.m., 22nd Street West and Harriet Avenue South
Officers were dispatched to a report of a person who was recently robbed at gunpoint. Officers met with the victim, a young man, who provided suspect information.

+ Sept. 26, between 11 p.m. and 11:10 p.m., 27th Street West and Blaisdell Avenue South
Three males punched a 31-year-old man in the face several times and robbed him. The man lost consciousness and woke up about five minutes later. He was treated at Abbot Hospital.

+ Sept. 26, 10:25 p.m., 2640 2nd Ave. S.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at an apartment building, found the victim outside and arrested a suspect inside. The victim positively identified the suspect.  

+ Sept. 27, 10:55 a.m., 2717 Lyndale Ave. S.
An unknown suspect demanded at knifepoint that an employee at Eye of Horus Metaphysical open the cash till, but the employee fled the store in fear for her safety. The suspect could not open the till and was last seen running eastbound from the business. No loss was reported.
   

+ Sept. 27, 4:30 p.m., 2640 2nd Ave. S.
A 25-year-old man was shot in the leg. The man provided suspect information and police inventoried his clothing.
