CITY COUNCIL WARD 11 // voter’s guide 2009

Ward 11 covers Windom, Tangletown and part of Kingfield, as well as far-Southeast Minneapolis. Candidates for this City Council seat are:

David Alvarado: Alvarado filed as a Republican. He could not be reached for comment.

Gregg Iverson: An 18-year veteran of the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the retiree said he has the connections to help alleviate the concerns related to the Crosstown reconstruction project. He wants the city to get itself into fewer lawsuits over police activities, to lower its fees and to continue its environmental policies.

John Quincy: The small-business owner wants to grow a more robust local-business community and considers public safety city government’s top priority. Quincy boasts a who’s-who list of endorsements that includes Rep. Keith Ellison, Rep. Frank Hornstein and Sen. Scott Dibble.
