The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is seeking volunteers to help out during Sunday’s Minneapolis Bike Tour.
The 14- and 37-mile treks start at 7:30 a.m. Sunday. The Park Board is looking for individuals and groups who can help register and check in riders from about 6 to 9:30 a.m.
To help out, call Michelle Kellogg at 230-6439 or e-mail email@example.com.
Also, Wednesday is the last day to pre-register for the tour. Prices today are $30 for adults ages 18 and older and $10 for children ages 6-17. Register this weekend, and the rates will be up to $40 and $15, respectively. (Children ages 5 and younger can partake for free.)
The tour, in its third year, takes riders along the Grand Rounds Byway System. Those who choose the 14-mile route will go around the Chain of Lakes, while the 37-mile route follows the entire system. Last year, about 3,400 people took part.
Proceeds go to the Minneapolis Parks Foundation, a non-profit that supports the Park Board.
